Sasquatch Chronicles: Out on Foot with Rocky Elmore

I made a trip to Southern California and met with retired Border Patrol Agent Rocky Elmore. Rocky is the author of “Out on Foot: Nightly Patrols and Ghostly Tales of a U.S. Border Patrol Agent.” I sat down with Rocky for a follow up interview that we did on Sasquatch Chronicles. Rocky was kind enough to take me out to the areas where agents saw everything from Sasquatch, Dogman and even ghosts. I will take you to the areas where a lot of these encounters happened.

An Overview Of Out on foot:
When Rocky Elmore joined the United States Border Patrol, he knew it would be a journey fraught with danger. But little did he know that the very real trails he walked night after night would soon lead him into surreal encounters from a different dimension. This was never more evident than when the ghost of a recently fallen fellow agent began to appear on top of the cliff from which he died. It marked the beginning of the end to one of the most bizarre series of events in the history of the U.S. Border Patrol. This collection of true stories provides a rare look into law enforcement that includes not only the routine nightly patrols of the USBP but also actual paranormal activity as it happened to the agents in the field. Readers will go on nightly patrols with the agents of the Brown Field Border Patrol Station, and will face their worst fears as they come face to face with smugglers, mountain lions, ghosts, and even a Sasquatch in this isolated no-man’s land. OUT ON FOOT takes place in the mysterious Otay Mountains just east of San Diego, California.

You know there’s a great premise for a movie in there especially about that murdered Border Patrol Agent. The Agent comes back from the grave to find his murderer and gets justice taking the bad guy out. I said it first so make sure I get credit for it and send me a check when the movie comes out. Nice work Wes.

thank you Wes and Rocky for this field trip, film and stories. That is beautiful country. It is difficult to equate it with ghosts but I believe the stories. Looks like great Dogmen country tho.

Great podcast, as usual. You are spoiling us Wes. Wonderful stories and visuals, great work by both of you. Lovely area around the river and unexpected green, and the road with the trees on it was spooky!

Great new edition to the show. It’s good to have a visual of the encounter. Did you do that interview in a gym ? Sounds like someone lifting free weights in the background! Lol,…. just kidding around it was fine good job wes hope to see more of this.

    Wes,
If you ever get down around the Sierras in the Placer County (Ca) area, give me a shout, I’d love to meet you in person and at least take you out to eat. I feel like thats the least i could do after everything you do for all of us.
    Thank you for everything Wes.

Rocky & Wes, thanks for the video! It was great hearing the stories and seeing the actual place where things happen. Devil Dog is another name for U.S. Marine. They would call Marines by this name staring in the early 1900’s. The name originated for those who fought in a battle back in the 1918’s or so. I am sure there have been other origins of the name too but being that Camp Pendleton is anywhere from 45 to 60 minutes away and the term might have come from a Marine that was working in the U.S. Border Patrol, it makes me think that this is why they started call those creatures Devil Dogs. It’s just a thought! Thanks again for the great video! ????

Those ghost were seen in a…cafeteria? Large metal trays being thrown on a metallic conveyor belt and then tossed into a huge, stainless steel sink…Jorge is almost done washing his first tray and–bam! Faceless ghost vaporizes through the wall and says–What? Huh? Jorge can not hear thees ghost what she ees saying! Too moach clotter!

I concur with most everyone here. Well done and enjoyable. Christmas is coming and Rocky’s book is going to make an awesome gift for either my brother or my dad. πŸ™‚ As far as C2C goes, I think it’s awesome when SasChron has a guest FIRST and then they go on to be on a nationally syndicated show. It shows the quality of SasChron. πŸ™‚ Here’s to you, Wes, and your guests such as Rocky!

I enjoy listening to the couple’s story about the creatures on the property on Sasquatch Central but its so hard to listen to the lady saying “You Know…You Know” every sentence.

Border Patrol Agents are the first line of defense for this country. Rocky is an outstanding example of the ideal agent. He is articulate, humble and competent. Thanks for your service and the work you did protecting this country. Thanks also for bringing these stories to light.

While listening to your video Wes,
the background sounds, were you inside a gym?
Sounds of weight plates banging and people working out.
Other than the odd overlay of people working out,
    glad you met Rocky.

What a great interview. I use to live not 5 miles from there when I was stationed in the navy, so this was a real shock to me. Getting the book asap. Wonderful job on the video and sound.

I agree with the comments here that the video interview truly helps us to get a feel for the scenario and the story. I bought the book already so I am hoping that there is more stories that I have not heard from the interviews. Look forward to more on scene interviews!

Thanks Wes for posting. I’m about 2 hours away from San Diego and maybe 3 from the site, I’d like to check it out but definitely during the day time, Rocky convinced me to stay away at night; uh-uh, no way you’ll see me in the area once the sun goes down. I’m going to get his book.

    Thank you Wes and Rocky,
Going to pick up his book. He has just a real credibility about him you cannot deny. Drawn to his stories and grateful he compiles them. Fascinating.
