Rocks Thrown At My Tent

A listener writes “I’m from East Tennessee and had an odd experience about 3 years ago while camping alone in the cherokee national forest on the Tellico River.

I had went to bed fairly early as to get up early to trout fish the next day, also that night we had the “super” moon it was super bright outside that night. Around 2am I got woke up by something moving around in the scrub brush behind the tent which was in the location of an old logging road. I figured it was probably a black bear so I laid back down and about 5 minutes later I had small rocks thrown at my tent I jumped up and grabbed my side arm and got out of the tent with my light but was unable to see anything other than brush and small tree limbs moving.

Needless to say the next morning I got up caught my limit of trout, cleaned them and left in a hurry. A few weeks later my father, uncle and I were in about the same area camping and he was joking about what I had told him and he done a few tree knocks about 15 minutes passed we were out by the fire and a small tree was pushed over and fell into the creek behind camp but once again could never get a visual on anything.”
