Rest In Peace Mike Wooley

I became friends with Mike Wooley when I interviewed him concerning a terrifying Bigfoot experience he had while deer hunting a few years ago.

Mike was always kind and considerate, he was a good man. He was soft spoken and I never heard him say anything negative about anyone.

I asked Mike if I could put him in the intro of the show “The eyes were real real evil” and Mike replied “Sure Wes but do you think people will understand what I am saying with my southern accent?” It always made me smile and It was the first memory that came to mind when I learned of his passing yesterday.

Rest in peace my friend.

Couldn’t agree more. Sorry to here of his passing. That dear man made such in impression on me when I heard his story, I simply was glued to it. It totally changed my outlook on this terrible creature. He will never have to fear again. God bless him, and thank you Wes for letting us know.

Oh no, I saw his name on the East Texas bigfoot convention list for next weekend and was looking forward to seeing him if I went. Very sad.

I guess he’s learning all the answers to the Mysteries now ?

I was working on a show late last night when i heard this had happened. I never got to talk with Mike, but he always impressed me and I never heard anyone who met the man have anything bad to say about him. A positive asset to the Bigfoot world and beloved figure therein, Mike Wooley will be missed, and i am personally saddened by his passing. R.I.P. Mike.

    I never met Mike,
though I was on the same episode of the show. I knew of his encounter though. When Wes told me I would be following Mike Wooley’s encounter I thought, “Great! No pressure there!”
I still shudder and get the goosebumps any time I think about what he went through. You could just tell by listening to him talk that he was a sincere and genuine soul.
I wish him a great journey, and peace and comfort to his family and friends.

This is an example of the influence of this podcast. I have listened to Mike’s encounter here a few times and that led me to watch a video or 2 of his on YouTube. I never spoke to or even met Mike but, when I read this it made my heart sink.
I am sorrowed at first but as Denise said, he has by now learned the answers to all of life’s mysteries and that is a little comforting.
I hope his family finds comfort.

Mike and Jackie were going to come visit us in Norway when his health became better. It was not meant to be. One surgery after another took its toll the last few years. In spite of it all, he always thought of others and loved the Lord. He loved doing the radio shows and talking all things Sasquatch. Mike you will be missed and had many friends. Til we meet again RIP my friend.

Mr. Wooley’s words that you use in your intro, Wes, have always struck a chord within me. I felt so bad for him that he was “robbed” of deer hunting after that day. I hope that he now can rest in peace.

I’m also saddened to hear of Mike’s passing. Never met him but listened to several of his interviews. He always can across as a sincere and honest man. Peace and blessings to his family and friends.

Amen. Been thinking about his family, his kids, grand-kids. It’s a real loss for them, and the people in this arena. My heart hurts…

Lisa, he went quickly. He and his wife were watching TV in bed on April 5th at 9:00 pm and he just stopped breathing and was gone like that. He had been through some difficult surgeries the last few years and was not 100 percent back. He had recently done some radio programs about his encounter which he loved doing.

Did everyone get to see the Skookum movie? Like Wes, I got a Skookum magnet and put it on my fridge, those eyes can be a little unnerving lol. I thought Mike was great in the movie. If you haven’t seen it yet, get a copy ???

I wish you could interview the guy that had called 911 and didn’t want to say it was a squatch but he said the guy was about 6 foot nine and he was looking right at him.
