This was posted by West Virginia Bigfoot Research. The officer looks like he is dressed as a State Park Ranger and these guys and gals are generally really cool people.

Seems like it was handled well
I’ve recently spoken with two of our version up here in BC. One guy flat out refused to believe they exist, and the other one flat out told me he was pretty sure they do – because a coworker of his encountered one near Squamish BC that shook him up so much he quit two days later
I’m always respectful with these guys and gals. To be honest I’d love their job

Well, that was nice! Very calm and pleasant on both sides, and he didn’t tell him get the recorders and get out… cool!

Ir is nice for a change to watch to polite individuals interacting in a civil manner.

Thats a good idea to give a card out for people to call.

Maybe the Rangers call the sasquatch exterminators in and get rid of them, if you let them know -where they are. Best keep it to yourself – why would the ranger want you to refer people to him – unless he wants to tell them they only saw a bear !!!!

Very cool! 🙂

I would think there would be a spoken or unspoken rule not to say anything- even if they believe personally. I always approach them assuming they’ve been told to shut up…. but at least he was nice.

Really couldn’t tell, but here in Pennsylvania we have 2 departments who patrol DCNR. and Game wardens. Most of the time when I’m up in my area of my encounter I’m watched by DCNR. they are usually nice and polite. I asked him one time why he spends so much time in that area and he politely said because it was his job and that it was his area to patrol. I bit my tongue because it’s one hell of a coincidence that just about every time I’m up their he or is partner shows up no matter what time of year it is. Kinda odd I think especially when Pennsylvania has millions of acres to patrol!

Ran into a retired parks ranger when I was fly fishing for Coho on the Squamish this past fall and his son had a sighting/encounter too Gabe

I think maybe he was hinting there were not any squatches in the area? Maybe next time ask him if he was a squatch where would he go in the area??

This was handled well on both sides, very courteous and no harm done. The creek being high, I am sure the ranger wanted to be sure no one did something hazardous, and being thus disabused was willing to be civil.
