Mysteries To Search: Brenton Sawin – Rest In Peace

This is sad news. I have spoken to Brenton only a few times over the phone. He was always thoughtful and considerate in our conversations. I knew he was not feeling well the last couple of years. Rest in peace Brenton.

Gary Shooty wrote on Facebook “UPDATE: For those that didn’t know Brenton Sawin was hospitalized on November 3, 2019 with stage four cancer. He made a few posts on his YouTube channel from that time until November 13th and nothing after. Sometime after Brenton slipped into a coma and has passed away peacefully. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 at Lexington Cemetery. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main St. is in charge of arrangements.

I always enjoyed his channel I also know he is a believer in Christ , and that is comforting to know as he will have all the answers to his many questions about the others. God Bless !!!

  2. Mike B

Such sad news. While I thought his style of interviews was unusual, I came to appreciate his approach to the topics he covered. Prayers for healing and comfort. God bless you, Brenton. And thanks for sharing, Wes. You are absolutely a class act.

  3. Mark W

Truely sad news, I was watching his update from hospital a couple times. We have and continue to pray for him. I thought maybe the silence was because he was getting better and being treated.

Everytime someone passes away with cancer it just reminds me how evil runs the world. There has been drs. Who have cured all types of cancer. However, those drs are forced to shut down because the medical community makes far too much money from all the meds and research that to find a cure would be catastrophic to so many pharmaceutical companies. Especially when the cure is nothing They can profit from. (All natural and organic foods, no sugar, no alcohol, animal fats and i believe coffee enemas is the way to do it.) look up something called the Gershwin diet) i believe thats how u spell it. Dr. Gershwin was successfully curing all types and levels of cancer and was shut down and forced out of the country. He since passed away but his daughter now runs the gershwin clinic somewhere in Mexico i believe. Greed and just plain evil rule this world and its disgusting. Well, Brenton I know Jesus was your Lord and Savior so your much better off right now than the rest of us back here on earth. Praying for your loved ones and I’ll see you on the other side?

Absolutely! I watched my dad pass away from cancer and I honestly believe that it was the treatments themselves that killed him. It was brutal. I watched him going from a tough-as-nails hard-bitten old cowboy to a mere shell of himself within a few months, and it all began when he started chemo and radiation treatments. The worst was the end when doctors sent him home, pretty much saying “Welp, that’s that, thanks for the money,” Dad fell into a coma in his favorite recliner, his beloved dog in his lap, and lingered for almost a week before he passed. My friend’s husband is doin the detox diet that you are describing–it’s very difficult and strict, but for an almost guy with stage 4 prostrate cancer, he is positively glowing. He doesn’t look sick at all–in fact, he looks better than ever–more vigorous, youthful, cheerful. He is still out there putting in a day’s work, too, in between all the celery juice and coffee enemas. I thought about trying this same regime for my Lyme disease, which, when it flares up, pretty much wipes me out. I think it might work.

I feel the same and I wish we the people could do something about it. I lost the love of my life last month on the 23rd. He had the same cancer type as Brenton and died the same way, slipped into a coma. I’m mad with grief these days and I want revenge. I’ve got cancer myself but I’m refusing treatment. I could probably live longer without it honestly.

      It’s called Gerson Therapy. Gerson.org I believe.
I’m not an expert by any means, and I havent done the gerson therapy, but have switched to smoothies as a meal replacement/supplement and my health has improved immensely. Fresh and frozen fruit, veggies, chia seeds, and sometimes protein powder, has solved issues that have troubled me for years. Cbd oil for curing other ailments, and im starting to use small doses of thc(medical) to help with one final ailment that has had me on the verge of disability for years. Amazing what plant diet can do for our bodies, dont get me wrong, i wont turn down a filet or venison, but eating a primarily plant based diet has worked wonders.

      • Mary D

Yes, I was a pretty hard-core vegan for a couple of years. Now I eat plant-based meals most of the time, but I occasionally do eat a small amount of meat. It really does have to be taken in moderation. The problem was that the modern human diet is full of so much crap, and it’s really a concentrated effort to eat naturally–fresh vegetables, fruits, whole-grains and nuts and meat occasionally. It’s no wonder people get cancer and auto-immune diseases and diabetes. We eat rubbish. But that’s the trend.

I have to say that it took me a few shows to get used to Brenton’s style, but when I did, I felt like he was an old friend.

I think the world needs more people that are still themselves and enjoy the simple and wonderful things about people, the way Brenton did.

  6. Tedd

I was just thinking about his channel and wondered if he went to a different platform. Very sad and I do hope he has his answers now and is protected from the evil he encountered as a child, by being with Christ. God Bless

It seems strange to mourn the loss of someone you’ve never met but, we are saddened to hear of Brenton’s passing.
Isn’t this a strange medium?! People who put themselves out on the internet, in any context know that they are going to get ridiculed for speaking up. It’s too bad they never really know how many people quietly agree with them and appreciate their efforts.

  8. Howard D

Very sorry to hear the news….Brenton is a believer and has gone on ahead of us.Those of us who are in Christ shall see him again when we get there…Our prayers are with his family and friends…

  9. Brian L

You will be missed greatly Brenton. My thoughts and prayers to your friends and families on the loss of a good friend. Thank you for all the stories you shared. R.I.P. Brother.

  10. John F

Brenton was a sweet, and kind human being. I watched many of his videos, and his videos are what got me into the Sasquatch topic even before being a member of Sasquatch Chronicles. I’m very sad to hear of his passing as I was just looking at the blog before watching today’s Sasquatch Chronicles video. His suffering is over and his questions are all answered, and I know he tell us all about it if he could. God bless Brenton Sawin.

  11. Dale M

I’m literally stunned at this news…the last video earlier this month I watched did not know it would be the last…like some his style was a bit different but it was Brenton…RIP my friend and may God look out for your family and though your up looking down at us we just want to tell you we shall meet someday….????♥️♥️

  12. Laura M

So very sorry to hear this. Prayers for his family and friends. May the good Lord give them strength and comfort in such a difficult time. Now Brenton is at peace, no pain, no suffering. God bless him and welcome him home.

  13. Steven B

This news breaks my heart. Although I never knew nor met Brenton personally, it is almost like I have as having listened to so many of his programs. May God grant peace and comfort to his family and friends. He will be missed.

No longer “Mysteries to Search”, Brenton. For you, it is “Mysteries Revealed”.

  14. Rodney P

  15. Ruth B

I’m so sorry to hear of his passing–didn’t know he was so ill. His shows were very good and he was a great host and a good person. I’ll always remember a series of shows he did with one guest that was bookworthy or movieworthy. Godspeed, Brenton.

  16. Sara S

  17. Johanna V

This is sad and bad news to lose a man who was such a force in our community. He had some awesome guests and some truly unique encounter stories. I loved his show as I love SQ, and it’s difficult to imagine who’ll step in to fill his unique perspective and style. Rest In Peace, Brenton, and thank you! for your contribution to this community.

  18. Todd W

God bless brenton I swear I heard him snoring then fart a cpl times , people were cussing him out tellin him to mute his mic when guest was speaking, God bless he addressed it an actually was doin a great job till the last year or so. RIP

  19. Linda W

Wes, Brenton was short on money many times during his podcasts and asked for help. His daughter was on his YouTube channel today and has a GoFundMe page to help pay for his burial and a headstone. Would you be able to announce this to your people? Many of your listeners were also listeners of Brenton.

    • Linda W

I totally understand why you don’t want to put that on your listeners. I actually hadn’t listened to Brenton for a long time. I was a listener and had sent him money one time …and the asking didn’t stop so I stopped listening even though I did enjoy his guests…and yes he did fall asleep and I suspect half of the time wasn’t even listening to the guest. When I heard about his passing , I went to his youtube channel right as his daughter was streaming about his funeral costs and felt guilty that I had written him off. You are absolutely not wrong, but I still feel bad for him and his daughters.

  20. Rodney P

I know that Wes Germer seems like he’s coming off pretty harsh about brenton’s life and his interviewing mishaps but it’s the truth. I listened to a lot of Brenton’s podcasts and yes he would always interrupt the guests in the middle of a sentence. All his health problems could have been avoided if he had a steady job with insurance and cut back or quit smoking. From what I heard he had 2 daughters to think about and care for he definitely should have taken better care of himself. That being said nobody can take away his kindness and big hart he had for his listeners even with all his interviewing mishaps his podcasts still came out being very interesting. Brenton did have one of the best podcasts out there my opinion 2 of his episodes are in my top ten episodes so he definitely put out great episodes.i know there will be mix opinions about why Wes Germer put the negative part of Brentons life out there but I’m sure it was to inform everyone how brenton got sick and I also understand why Wes doesn’t feel comfortable asking for donations on his podcast Sasquatch chronicles to help with brentons Financial situation. How do you ask people for money to help someone who couldn’t help himself by smoking 2 packs of cigarettes a day and supposedly a opioid problem and other demons he was fighting. Either way all the problems he had he still was a great kind interesting human being and will definitely be missed.

  21. Brandon S

Wow… first time commenting on the site. But I have to be honest. I had to do a double take at the name above Wes’s comment. By no means am I fan of Brent’s work… but it’s kind of Busch League to drop someone’s dirt like that right after their passing. And in the same Blog post that’s supposed to express condolences. I imagine (or at least hope) that it’s coming from something personal. Maybe I’m wrong but what we love most about this site is it’s judgement free approach about a topic we all can’t get enough of. Remember… we also give $$ to this great platform. Maybe it’s not our business what his demons were. Kind of unnecessary IMO. I mean this with all due respect to both parties of course.

    • Linda W

If you are referring to me, you are obviously completely misinterpreting or didn’t read my entire comment. I was asking Wes to refer people to the go fund me page to help pay for Brentons’ burial and headstone as he did not have any money and his young daughters don’t have it either. This is why I try to never comment on anything because inevitably someone misunderstands it and starts something. It’s funny how you have the guts to rake a listener above Wes’s comment but not Wes.

  22. Jeannette T

several years ago I had a strange scary situation nothing made any sense. It was nothing Bigfoot related. I sent an email off to Brenton. He called me back we had a good talk. He helped me get through it. He reached out and helped a total stranger. I will be forever grateful. He was a good man.

  23. Brandon S

    Ms. Linda,

I apologize if if it sounded like my comment was directed towards towards you. I was talking about the comment Wes made about Brent. I just thought an “RIP Blog Post” was a poor place to remind/inform the community about the recently deceased man’s mistakes and demons. I’m not even a fan of Brent’s work. Just not quite sure why he’d even post this entry on his website if he feels that strongly about Brents character. BUT… that’s just my opinion. And it’s his show. So again… I had no issue with your comment Linda!

  24. Connie O

Wes, I truly understand your mindset regarding your comments about Brenton. You are very caring and protective with your members/listeners and don’t like anyone being taken advantage of. It sounds like Brenton was a very nice guy with some problems that were hard for him to deal with. I feel sad for his daughters and hope they will be ok. The most important thing regarding Brenton’s sad passing is that he is now with his Savior, Jesus. He hasn’t died he moved to his permanent home.

  25. Sylvia S

My deepest sympathy to Brenton’s family. He was a good Christian man who always had interesting people and topics on his shows. Rest in peace friend. Thank you for posting this sad news Wes.
