Missing 411: The Hunted

In case you missed it. Hunters have been disappearing from North American wildlands for hundreds of years, many without leaving a trace.

Former police detective David Paulides was initially brought on to investigate the circumstances around the many mysterious disappearances – here he presents the haunting true stories of hunters experiencing the unexplainable. Missing 411: The Hunted is based on the book by Paulides, which documents 185 cases of missing peoples from four different countries. All 185 cases fit a narrowly defined profile that was refined after researching thousands of missing person reports; these cases are the most difficult, defy common sense, challenge conventional wisdom and remain unexplained.

It’s amazing how hunters with firearms will just disappear and years later someone finds their shoes or a backpack or something else. These stories are fascinating.

Yeah, Sheila, I noticed that too. The one guy could easily see property with buildings on it but never made it there. Paulides has talked about stuff that confirmed things in the wild that I’ve seen. About two months ago I happened across a 300 lb dead calf in a ravine not far off a gravel country road. It was March and fairly cold so I didn’t think much about the body not decomposing. Two weeks later I went to check on it and still no decomposition or bloating. I found it odd but what really spooked me is that no predation had taken place. We have black bear, coyotes, bobcats, cougars and I’ve even spotted a wolf nothing has touched that calf. Since then I heard Paulides talk about cattle mutilation and described everything I’ve seen with that calf. I even took my brother to see it and he was creeper out and he used to teach outdoor education near Battle Creek, Michigan. He also pointed out that the only farms in the area are horse farms, we don’t have beef or dairy farms in the area. Paulides raises interesting questions.

To Fully understand the gravity of whats happening in and around these national parks I recommend reading Mr.Paulides books. He has a utube channel also, very interesting stuff.
