Justin Clontz, a groundskeeper at the Glamping Collective campsite, was shocked when he came across a strange charred object along the nearby forest trails.
Measuring an inch thick and around 3-4ft across, the mystery object was so heavy and unwieldy that Clontz had to resort to using a lawn mower to tow it back to the camp grounds.
Almost completely black in color, the object had several metal plates and rivets attached to it while its surface was covered in what looked like charred and frayed carbon fiber.
Given the place where it was found, Clontz believes that it fell from the sky and possibly even from space. “We don’t know what it is,” he said. “We just know that it’s not from up here.”
“It’s a one in a million chance that it lands, especially if it landed somewhere off the trail in the woods you’d have never found it but it just happened to land on the trail.”

Despite the weight of the object, nobody had heard any noise when it landed.
As for what it could be, several suggestions have been put forward. Some believe that it’s most likely to be from an aircraft, while others subscribe to the notion that it is a piece of space debris.

(New Jersey) Even more confusing to me than where this object came from is what the hell is a glamping collective, and where is it- as I had never heard the word. Apparently glamping is the portmanteau (the blending of two words- another term I had never heard of) in this case glamour and camping. So its a more elegant way of camping.. This particular glamping facility is located in Clyde, North Carolina. I’m sure some people here know that, but for others liked me, I saved you the trouble of looking it up

Thanks for this Glen K. I had no idea what glamping is. I have always found there is no glamour in camping. Just good old fashion getting back to nature and enjoying the great outdoors, and reviving the soul for a time. Sure be interesting to find out what this really is. With rivets it could be early Russian or ours from early space days. Great find in any case.

(New Jersey) Thanks Charles. I’m not much of a camper myself, but I can see how this might appeal to some people. Maybe a beginner who wants to ease into the camping experience. Or perhaps people who enjoy camping but want to avoid the negative aspects like bad weather, mosquitos and other insects. Regardless, I don’t think glamping would protect them if this object fell on them !!

The same thing was just found near my father’s farm in Ituna Saskatchewan (Canada). Strange.

Wow. There’s too much trash that WE put up there (which is beyond disgraceful) that it’s now just falling down to earth and not even burning up in the atmosphere! Imagine that. hopefully nobody gets smacked in the head or worse.. this makes me sick.
