An apparent attempt to stage a Bigfoot sighting horribly backfired when a man dressed in furry camouflage was struck and killed by two cars on a Montana highway, police say.
Randy Lee Tenley, 44, of Kalispell, Mont., was pronounced dead at the scene near Flathead Lake in northeastern Montana after the stunt late Sunday night.
“This is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen. Really,” Montana Highway Patrol Lt. Col. Butch Huseby tells the Los Angeles Times.
Tenley had donned a Ghillie camouflage suit covered in thick foliage-like material that’s used by hunters and military snipers and dashed onto the two-lane road around 10:30 p.m. Two cars, both driven by teenage females, slammed into him.
A friend who was with him told police about the intended Bigfoot hoax. Authorities are investigating whether the men had been drinking.

The “Darwin Awards” are in full swing in any given year. I feel bad for any his family that they have to live with this kind of death.

And at what point did running into traffic seem like a good idea?
Robert P
It wasn’t a hoax. He was a Sasquatch.

Kalispell is in NW Montana, North of Flathead Lake and West of Glacier National Park.
Typo or ? Probably. But.
These little details make me wonder, at times.

Got to feel really bad for those two girls, having raised three, I know they are not just freaked out, but heartbroken, whether it was his fault or not.

I’ve noticed that all we ever hear of are Male casualties of their own stupid human tricks, it is showing us that woman just might be the smarter sex of the human race.
-As I am never hearing of women blowing themselves up or setting themselves ablaze or racing out into approaching cars at night and becoming ‘human footballs’ due to the ‘human Dah factor’.

In my above statement, I didn’t mean for it to sound insensitive to Mr. Randy Lee Tenley’s tragic death and no disrespect meant towards his family and loved one’s. the Gist of what I said stand as written, ‘woman seem to be far more practical and not as recklessly risk taking’. As it seems we never hear of women being found in compromised positions, [unless it is in their decisions of adultery, which in that case men and women seem to be as equals]- oh wait there was that one news event where a pissed off wife chased down her cheating adulterous husband in her Mercedes benz and ran him over twice.] but speaking upon creating Sasquatch hoaxes and rushing out in front of oncoming cars upon a dark night in camouflage gear, that seems to be a huge stupid owned by Men.

Guess he didn’t think that through. Hoaxers, pay attention.

About the typo on what part of MT that Kalispell, MT is located in… that would for sure be an error made by the news writer with an addendum to correct error made… “Updated at 2:10 p.m.: An earlier version of this post mistakenly said Flathead Lake is located in Northeastern Montana. It is located in the Northwestern part of the state” — source: http://articles.latimes.com/2012/aug/28/nation/la-na-nn-bigfoot-sasquatch-hoax-20120828
