Large Black Figure Looking At Me

A listener writes “It was the last week of May 2004 on the Akamina Parkway in Waterton National Park. Early in the morning….it was overcast, light drizzle.

I was driving and remember thinking to myself that there were alot of Snowshoe Hare along side the road eating the fresh greens. I focused on one Hare on the left side of the parkway, but my attention quickly focused on right side of the road and saw a large black figure looking at the Hare and then quickly looking at me. It was standing in the ditch and with its left arm turned away a branch as if to get a better look at me then as quickly as it happened it ended. I kept driving past wondering to myself what I had just seen. I was in a daze of sorts, trying to comprehend what I just saw. I did not stop to try and get a picture nor did I stop to look for prints.

I was just in a mild state of shock. Thats all I can say…its hard to describe my feelings. I have told only a handful of people. Most laugh. I still think of it today. Playing the whole scene over and over in my head. When I returned home from my photography trip I researched the internet and found there was a sighting at Waterton almost to the day in 2002.”

Well said Kathy. Never could even stand it when one of my t.v. stations would show Obamabinlyin. I quickly changed channels to not let his voice in to our air waves. Sorry dems., but that’s JUST the way it is.

This area is close to my home and I visit often. That highway and the whole area around Waterton has a very high grizzly bear population. The worst grizzly attack in Canadian history happened there about 22 years ago. Grizzly stand around 8 feet tall. They target their prey, so they’ll watch and hunt down whatever they’re watching, even if there’s many type of that prey around. Polar bears do the same thing. I know a guy who is a gas plant engineer and there was a bear who was targeting him and other in the plant saw him follow him around the perimeters of the plant fence and watch him every day until he got too close when he was leaving one day at his truck outside the plant. They actually had to relocate this guy to another plant. Anyways just thought I’d mention that but yeah that area is full of grizzlies and I wonder if that’s what he saw.

Agreed, Pamela. Came for Bigfoot stories, found racism and stupidity. There is no place for that here, and remarks like this should be deleted by the owner of this blog. Talk like this is highly offensive to most people with a brain.(sorry to have to be so blunt).
