It Squatted Down Like A Man

A listener writes “I live on a Northern Ute tribe, here in Utah after listening to some of your stories. I have seen a lot of things being a outfitter and guide here for about 20 years I have had run-ins with Bigfoot and we did see one that we almost shot but I didn’t realize what it was until now.”

Spoke to the witness and he has a couple of encounters to share. He said “Something was stalking us out of this canyon, it was up on the ridge. I told the guys to keep going and I stayed behind and hid. I saw what was stalking us and it looked like a giant bear, bigger than any other bear I have ever seen but it was on two legs. I caught up with the guys and told them to keep moving. We finally realized we were not getting away. So we all stopped and had our guns on it. The creature stopped and squatted down like a man. It had the head of a man…I did not know what I was looking at. I was convinced it was a bear at the time…a strange bear but this looked more like a man. I have several strange encounters on the reservation I would like to discuss.

Sounds like an interesting encounter. I saw one squat down one night and the only thing different (that I noticed) was that it’s shoulders came forward and arms reached toward the front of it when it squatted. Besides that single, quick shoulder movement….it did do it just like a human would.

I’ve never heard of a bear that squats down to conceal itself. Reminds me of that Todd Standing video where he spanned the camera and hulking mass of creature ducks behind a large boulder. Looking forward to the show!

Hope this one’s up soon. I used to live in Utah. It’s a strikingly beautiful place. They climate is perfect, and the snow is magical because it is not slushy like in humid areas. I used to watch storms from the valley view, move through the mountain, and quickly blow away. We’d go up and shoot “pot-guts” (like prairie dogs, and everywhere. Farmers and ranchers hate them and at least back then, welcome people shooting them) but I wouldn’t do that now. Anyway, Utah is a treasure. Can’t wait for this one.
