It Looked Me Directly In My Eyes

A listener writes “I work as an engineer in the pharmaceutical industry, and would consider myself a pretty skeptical and logical person.

Prior to this experience, If I heard people talk about anything Bigfoot related I would roll my eyes and take it with a grain of salt. For my job I get to travel a-lot for work and drive to all sorts of places. I was driving to a pharmaceutical company in The Pocono mountains in PA and was staying in a hotel that was off the beaten path at the very top of the mountain.

Im typically at site for a week at a time and this was the first day on site and I finished late at 5:45 (I typically do this to try to finish early by the end of the week). So I am leaving the pharmaceutical company and to my dismay the sun was already going down due to daylight savings.

I start driving to the hotel and I have to get on this small two lane road that is going up this mountain. I turn on my high beams because it got dark in a matter of seconds. I typically like to blast music when I drive but since this road was very narrow and forested on both sides I drove in silence so that I can focus on the road.

The speed limit was 25 mph because of all the twists and turns. Since I was driving my car was silence I rolled down my window to spit out some gum I was chewing and I reach a straight patch in the road where there were no turns. Mind you I was about 200ft away and I see this absolutely huge hairy figure with half of its body in the forest and the other half facing the road.

I nearly soiled my pants because I was driving relatively slowly and it seemed as if it was watching and waiting for me approach. It was built like a linebacker but bigger and as I got closer it slowly receded into the forest then stopped. I floored it and picked up speed to about 50 mph quickly out of fear and as I got closer it looked me directly in my eyes and I felt my heart drop. For a moment I was really afraid but that strangely faded; I felt as though this thing was sick or something the eyes looked bloodshot and glazed over and it was missing large patches of hair on its shoulders and body with grey-is pale skin underneath.

This all happened in a span of 30 seconds but it felt like an eternity. Although obviously Ive never seen one before It didn’t seem like it was in the best condition. This thing looked me in the eye and let my drive past it without moving an inch all while staring me in the eye through my windshield. Wes I nearly shat my pants. I consider myself a scientific mind and this thing scared me so bad I checked out of that hotel the next day and the next morning booked another one closer to the site in a more populated area. I will never forget what I saw that day. I kept trying to tell myself it was maybe exhaustion from a long day at work and that mind was playing tricks on me or that it was a bear standing on its hind legs but I do not know what I saw but I do NOT think it was bear. I am glad I was in the safety of a vehicle. I am not sure how I would have reacted if I was out in the environment unarmed.”

I’m guessing I was on that same road looking for our hotel one night last week on our way to Florida ( thankfully, we made it to Daytona ) Dark and forests on both sides of a narrow 2-lane road!We decided to skip the hotel and got back on rte. 95 and kept driving..
Sounds like an interesting encounter, glad he’s safe.

Probably the best thing you could’ve done. Spooky driving at night. Thankfully I never saw anything like this description. Once I was heading to Lafayette via I 10 E. It was only about 9pm. Suddenly a car bummer (that’s right. A car bummer, off of a vehicle) hit my windshield! I nearly had a wreck, but thankfully did not. The windshield held up by some miracle! I was very shaken though. Now I wouldn’t be surprised if one of these creatures had thrown it at my car. I really wouldn’t drive alone like that at night anymore.

I’m very close to the Poconos and know the pharmaceutical company the person is referring to. Food and water sources are very abundant there and lots of forest. I’m not surprised at all.
