I Don’t Know What I Saw

A listener writes “I’ve debated sending this email. I honestly wrote off this particular experience as an over active imagination as a youngster but after listening to your podcast for about a month now I am wondering.

When I was about 10 I saw a “predator”-esque large human shape in a tree in my backyard. I had not seen the predator movie until 2 years later or so but when I did I immediately went back to what I witnessed.

I have also experienced ghosts, angels and demons. And when I saw some glowing red eyes out of a back window at a small church I was a pastor at I initially thought it (again) my imagination. However, I gotta say I think it may have been something different.

Not sure if this is any interest to you but having heard several other folks offer similar stories has suggested a different potential answer to these experiences.

Just thought I would briefly share it with you.”

    I had seen something similar to that “predator” type thing with a friend of mine in the early 90’s in Western PA. It followed us along a creek as we walked through the woods. It even made the clicking sound (although it was slightly different than the movie). We both saw and heard it. I brushed it off as my imagination because I had seen the movie and thought to myself there’s no way that it’s real and that was just a movie. It wasn’t until I heard people talking about their encounters with it that I realized we may have encountered something real that day.

    Maybe that’s why it’s so hard to catch a BF/Sasquatch moving. Kind of like quantum physics’ “Particle or Wave”. If you not observing it, then it’s a wave. If you are, it’s a particle. Just a thought.

I don’t know what I saw

A great report from White County, Illinois in 2015.

“I was hunting on me and my neighbor’s property it was right before daylight. I could hear something coming through the woods so I figured it was a deer as it got closer the sound sounded more like somebody walking through the woods.

Finally I seen what it was it was a massive black figure had to be 7 or so feet tall it walked slowly and turned its head when it was walking, it stopped looked at me then it took off in massive strides.

This animal had broad shoulders and it was walking on two feet. I was terrified but after the hunt that morning I went to where I seen it about 15 yards in buckbrush there was trees as big around as a PVC pipe pushed over.

I don’t know what I saw but it was nothing I’ve ever seen in my entire life and it made me think that there’s something out there. I always heard of the legends but I never thought much about it until that day.”

    White county is in southern Illinois. That is a sasquatch hotspot. Down there it is sometimes referred to as the Big Muddy Monster as it has been seen many times at the Big Muddy river. The Shawnee National Forest runs throughout the southern part of the state. It is prime sasquatch area. Good story. Thanks for sharing.
