Howls And Screams In The Sequoia National Park

Tonight my guest talks about the vocals he heard while on a hunting trip. He spent a lot of time looking on the web to find the noise he heard. He sent this to me. This was published in 2012 and the YouTuber writes “A group camping in Sequoia National Park captured the screams of an unknown animal on video around 8:00am. The sound is quite eerie and intense. The camera man reported that the sounds were coming from the East. In the video, the sounds seem to grow louder, suggesting that whatever was screaming was moving closer to the group’s position.”

I’ve heard stuff like this many times, when I used to live in the far north regions of Wisconsin. Always attributed it to coyotes’. Those spooky critters can make a variety of sounds, and when you’re out at night, by yourself, especially in winter, it can creep you to pieces! (good-creepy). Not everything that makes racket out there is a booger.

Those screams sound like the the Yosemite screams. I can say from experience that, that isn’t a bear, coyote, of fox scream. And yes breaking camp and getting away from something masking those sounds is always a good idea.

cyndie r, the best line I could hear someone say after hearing all that noise getting closer is “throw the stuff in the truck fast, we’ll straighten it up as soon as we get home”. I could not stay there once I heard screams or anything else that suggests a BF is around. Well of course I would never be caught out there in the woods anyway. Some have guts to do it, and some like me don’t.
