How Gargoyles Became Monsters

Gargoyles peer down at us from buildings, pop up on our TV screens, and exist within the fantasy worlds of role-playing games but do you know where they originated from?

This was entertaining. Wes, you know how you say there is
sone truth in folklore? (Something to that effect, anyways). On Tony’s show episode 181, the guest swore she saw a gargoyle. I get it, PBS is going to portray that this was the creative imagination of people throughout history; or was it?

Did people in the 12th Century really have a sense of humor? I don’t know, I’ve always viewed that architecture as evil. And like Colleen B, I agree with what Wes says, there’s always truth in folklore. I don’t laugh, usually, when I see that stuff. It’s frightful to me! I’m always interested in this stuff tho! It’s fascinating!

Wonder how the Norte Dame fire and resulting “redesign” will affect those ancient Norte Dame gargoyles that watched over France for eons…..uh oh, watch out France. You may be playing with more than fire?
