Friday Night’s Show: Frightening encounters

Friday night I will be speaking to a member of tribe in South Dakota. She writes “One question that keeps coming up is the dichotomy between natives view that Sasquatch is a guardian and yet at the same time keeping our kids close ready to lock and load. Its the same as if a mountain lion or coyote was coming up to your house, its not typical behavior. If they are coming up to your house they are not scared and the chances of being attacked are great. The same applies to Sasquatch. If a Sasquatch is coming up to your house they are not wary of you and are likely looking for something, this is not good!

We had it or them come to my parents house frequently in the late 80s early 90’s.They terrorized my family to the point where we had the tribal police sitting below our house and at different points along the creek. It was really scary. The creature would come up and knock on the upper part of the house. Our dogs would go nuts, you could always tell when they were around because the coyotes would start howling and yelping like crazy. It was not a pleasant experience, they are frightening.

Also I wanted to thank you for sticking to your guns and continuing to educate people that these beings are not to be toyed with.”

What?!? No flute playing to pacify the savage beast? What are we coming to??? 😉

“…continuing to educate people that these beings are not to be toyed with.” Thank you for another voice of reason. 🙂

History of First Americans shows they often had the bison, bears, and other animals as “totems” for a general idea, often making masks and depictions in their honor. On the other had, they have many stories too of the danger involved with living with these creatures as wel as Sasquatch. Anything in wild deserves our respect, but our wariness also.

I’ve always said that SC is a very educational website and tells us quite a bit on the unpredictable behavior of these animals. I’m constantly learning more and more daily from not only Wes and the guests but the members as well, and if you can say you learned something on a regular basis and get enjoyment out of it at the same time than Wes you have a very productive and progressive website here to be able provide and combine education and entertainment for all of us. Friday’s show should be a great one. Listening to these types of encounters where families are being harassed by a sasquatch or even a group of them quite often are in my opinion kind of bitter sweet. These encounters are some of my favorites to listen too and are very enjoyable to hear but at the same time it feels kinda wrong to get enjoyment out of other’s misery, frustrations and hardships. You really feel for these people who very often do absolutely nothing to provoke these animals. Should be another homerun for SC

I’m looking forward to Fridays show it sounds interesting. I love habituation stories the best because of the insight that the witnesses are able to give into how these creatures look and behave. Add to that that it’s coming from a Native American family and you can count on it being a great and very informative show. Keep up the good work Wes!

I’ve always believed that they are definitely a creature or species that has to be respected. By all means we should defend ourselves if a sasquatch is coming around . Afterall, Very well respected Bob Garrett said they are all very different individuals from good ones to bad ones. It’s a very unique creature that has human like doings that freak us out and amaze us at the same time. Bob said they need to be cautious around the more intented sinister ones . We all must know that this is a top of the food chain species and need to always be prepared to defend ourselves . I think Sasquatch being able to do what it does to people is terrifying , yes we need to be wary of them, for sure. By all means defend ourselves. But they belong in this world just like us and to be left alone.if a flute player is somebody who admires this creature for what it is and believes in respecting them and not harming them the way we’ve already harmed every thing in this world. Than I’m a flute player. If I’m someone who believes my family is being seen as a dinner entree, than harming one in self defense, well- I still respect that and can live with that. But let’s let them live and let live . I’m glad they are wary of us. We r always going to be the one creature to most be feared.
