Joe Carter disappeared on May 21, 1950, while skiing with friends near Ape Canyon on Mt. St. Helens. The only evidence he left behind was a trail in the snow indicating he was running away from something at a frantic pace. Ape Canyon has an interesting history dating back to 1924 when a group of miners was harassed at their cabin by a group of “mountain devils”.

If it was a flesh and blood creature that took Joe where are his skis, etc.? Could those have been dragged into a cave? Are there caves there? Or, is this a case of creatures taking him into another level of existence through a portal? Thanks, Wes.

That famous cave is Ape Cave, near Ape Canyon, on the Plains of Abraham (of all things) tucked into the gorge (Ape Canyon).
