I Thought It Was A Bear But I Was Wrong

A listener writes “It was august 18th 2019. Me and a long time friend of mine decided to get away with a retreat into the park for a day or two. We had picked a spot a quarter mile or so off trail next to a meadow so we could lay put on a blanket during the day and cloud watch and a night star watch.

We set up right out side the wooded area on the edge of the field and wood line. Prior to us going to sleep I heard a few really weird owl calls. I remember saying to my friend Jamie how weird the two calls sounded and her getting mad at me to stop cause I was scaring her. We went to bed around 11am after laying in the field star watching.

I woke around 1am to several white tail deer grunting and making noises in the field. I remember shining my 1000 lumen flash light on the watching the buck huff and puff jumping up and down ( thinking this was a little weird but maybe they were upset we were in their spot I went back to bed. A hour later we awoke with a bang as the whole side of our tent shook. There was no trees above us and we were to far off trail for it to be anyone messing with us… yet I didn’t fully understand what had just happened. I remember shining the light into the wood line across from the meadow. To my Surprise I seen something running on all fours it was jet black and at this point I’m thinking a bear until right before a small incline it goes from running on all fours to boom bi pedal movement so fluidly literally right were the vison of my light had ended.

We didn’t stay another night that next morning we packed up and left, I wish now I would of kept the branch that was thrown at our tent. I did go look for prints but didn’t see much. I don’t know what animal is capable of throwing rocks.”

    Thanks for sharing!
We’ve heard them mimicking owls before, a lot of times, it’s seems that is one of the consistent things they all do no matter what region they are from..

Looking forward to the new “Beat Of Sasquatch Chronicles ” !
