Brien Foerster: Megalithic Petra In Jordan

One of the largest ancient megalithic sites in the world, there is far more to Petra than just the famous scenes from Indiana Jones.

Interesting that the rock isn’t sandstone, as thought to be, but rather a unique quartz. A lot of strange things happen around quartz.
    Thanks Wes, I enjoyed it!

Why is it that people refuse to believe, despite the written Egyptian history, that tools were used to carve the stone? I have a first hand account by two Egyptian scholars, in Egypt, that they did use hand tools and lots of slave and nonslave labor over thousands of years. It also pisses off Egyptains that others think it was done by aliens. I’ve seen the tools they used. Give the people who lived there some credit. It’s so disrespectful. I’m sure we wouldn’t like it either if outsiders waltzed in and said there was no way we could have built our country in 200 years.
