What are audible sounds?
Audible sounds can be simply defined as the sound which humans can hear. For audible sound, the frequency of the sound wave lies between 20 Hz to 20KHz. It should be noted that the range of audible sound may vary from person to person.

What are inaudible sounds?
The sounds which human ear cannot detect comes under the category of inaudible sounds. In simple words, the frequency of inaudible sound is either greater than 20kHz or less the 20Hz. The sounds whose frequency is less than 20Hz is called infrasound and the sound whose frequency is more the 20Khz is called ultrasound.

Animals like whales and elephants can make sounds below 20 Hz i.e. infrared which humans cannot detect. Similarly, bats and dolphins make ultrasound to navigate. It is interesting to note that the audible range of humans slowly decrease as they grow up.
