Jose did a great job on the artwork. This is inspiring. I don’t think I could paint this creature in such a happy light, but I admire those that can paint with innocence and wonder, but sometimes the bright side is not really the truth to some people’s experiences, or doesn’t convey the hidden story to the subject matter either.

Here’s a true personal story for you. I guess this is as good of a spot as any to park it.

The day before yesterday I took my dog for a drive in the woods, putting around road hunting for grouse… after a while driving around I get this thought or something almost like an inner whisper or intuition “speed kills”, it didn’t totally feel like me thinking about anything specific, and I know this because I start trying to make sense of what that means.

At first I thought, well maybe it means the speed I go while hunting either allows me to harvest more birds or maybe the wrong speed kills the hunt?

A few miles later going about 10mph the whole time with the widows down I smell something like burning electrical wires, I realize it may be something to do with the new brakes I just put on the front. I stopped the truck and sure enough my driver-side brake was heating up bad I could feel the heat radiating with intense heat through the outside of the wheel and the others were fine. I start feeling nervous about it and know I have to immediately head straight for home, so I start driving and a little faster than I’d usually go.

Suddenly I’m confronted with a pickup truck and a logging truck barreling towards me at highway speeds on a narrow country road and roughly only one and a half lanes wide, the sides of the road bordered by mature timber. My wheels hugged the edge of the road as close as possible with the other pickup oncoming but my tires go off the edge of the road trying to avoid the wider log truck that obviously wasn’t concerned about his own recklessness. I managed to get all four tires back on the road but I was pissed.

Then it occurred to me the message from just a few minutes before “speed kills” and think, If I would’ve been going faster I probably wouldn’t be writing this to you now. That hot brake on the driver side would’ve likely grabbed first with more traction than the tires off the road on the passenger side, hitting the brake probably would’ve sent me into the oncoming logging truck.

I think it was a divine blessing it didn’t turn out worse than it did. I got the message, I just didn’t interpret the thought or message the correct way. If you ever get a whisper like that, try not to overthink it, just listen to it… this whisper has kept me from getting into accidents in the past several times already. Mercy me. 🙏🏼 I fixed the truck now though:)

I think people who are careless of others will experience a gnashing of teeth, maybe even more than mine were that day. Only God knows.
        🌞🙏🏼❤️
