A listener writes “Wes, About a year ago I took my 2 sons and a friend to the Blackrock Desert in Nevada .I use to go there quite often with some old friends exploring, dirt biking and off-roading.
The boys and I took dirt bikes and guns to camp and target shoot for spring break. My younger son Walker was walking back to camp as the sun was going down and felt something behind him.
He turned to see a tall dark long armed thin creature. He called out to it and then pulled the 9mm pistol and emptied a clip in its direction. This caused it to drop into the ground and not seen again that weekend. Walker is a very deep person and seems to attract or his mind is open to spirits or spiritual things.
School is not his strong suit and lately he has been extremely isolated and moody. He is now 14.
Last night he broke down in tears and opened up to my wife and I that the thing from the desert had followed us home and appears now and then.
The closest thing we could find of what it looks like is a skinwalker. My son is extremely troubled by this and feels evil is around us and getting closer. I’m asking you if you have any insight or know of a contact that can help us with this matter.
I believe my son 100%.
I started listening to your podcasts about 9 months ago and they have expanded my thoughts and beliefs on many subjects that occur in the woods.”

You are a wonderful parent to believe your son & to seek answers to his troubling issue. I sincerely hope that you do find an answer & any help he may need in order for him to have relief from whatever plagues him.

That is so sad. I guess something of an evil nature latched onto him. I would try to remedy the situation with a spiritual ‘warfare’….so to speak. I’m not very religious but I do know that if it’s an evil entity that only one thing will help!?.
I know that particular age is tough anyways. The only thing I could do with my son sometimes was just listen and keep letting him know that ‘this feeling won’t last forever and he will feel better’. Best wishes to the family.

I pray for the protection of our Triune God – The Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit over your son. If you don’t have a home church seek out a pastor and make an appointment. I suggest a local Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Good luck brother.

God bless your family..that’s nightmarish.

It was a likely a Rake. They do latch on to certain kinds of people. I’d say they look like ghouls. Tall, grey or brown, fast. I don’t know what they do but once they’re after you, it seems they never really go away.

So sorry for your son, I’am so glad he opened up to you that’s a relief in its self…Have him call out “In the name of Jesus Christ” I command you to go back where you came from and to leave me and my family alone…I believe it’s Salt you lay out around your home area…Praying for you…

100%, have heard this works every time. These things are evil, + will run when commanded to in the name of Jesus.

There is only one way to get rid of this thing and it is Jesus. Ask your son to pray a prayer something like this…”Dear Jesus, please come into my heart and life and be my Lord and Savior. Thank you for dying on the Cross for my sins.” The whole family should pray this prayer. After that, I would plead the blood of Jesus on your son for protection. I would plead the blood of Jesus on everyone in your house and every room in your house. There is power and protection in Jesus name. Start reading the Bible out loud every day in your house. God tells us our sword is His word. Go on line and check out websites like vcyamerica.org for help and guidance. Call churches like Grace Community Church with Pastor John MacArthur, for suggestions and prayer. Now I’m sure some who read this will disagree with my suggestions but that’s ok. It doesn’t change the fact that there is no one or thing that is more powerful than Jesus. This is a spiritual battle and you cannot help your son alone. It’s wonderful that you believe and love your son so much. God be with you. I will be praying for all of you but especially for your son. With the help of Jesus, this thing will stay away for good.

Oh wow, Connie O. Please don’t make this into some type of religious thing. The son saw something, shot at it, probably didn’t know what it was and was scared. Maybe it was a cryptid, maybe not. But wow just don’t bring my lord and savior into this. Just stop.
Nick H
He asked for advice, she gave it to him, try anything at this point!
Sheila L
Agree with you, Mr. Nick.
God bless you and the family in this post.

Bal G, You might want to keep the perfect advice Connie gave, because she is following exactly what Jesus taught us to do in a dangerous other worldly event like this. You never know when You might be needing this advice. God bless you Connie.

Very sorry for your son and family’s exposure to the entity. I have said a prayer for your son and your family. I would like to ask that we all at SC to take a minute and say a prayer for this mans son, and family. amen

You’re right Nick
These occurrences are outside of ordinary realms and maybe seeking help beyond ordinary realms may offer a solution.
Whether it be a priest or a psychologist, you have to go somewhere…
I do hope he finds peace.

I’m very sorry to hear this thing has followed you home. If you really feel it is a skinwalker you may want to contact someone (an elder, medicine man/woman, priest) from the tribe located at or nearest to that area. If that’s not possible, whatever your religion I would contact a pastor, priest, … to help you with this. By all means call on God and ask Him to surround, your son, you and all your family and your home with a white light of protection and send His holy angels to guard and protect you. I wish your son and your family all the best.
Lisa B
I agree with Connie.

I always enjoy the audacity of the pious. Sure, invoke some mythical being while a living creature stalks you of which you have zero knowledge and few people DO. Or, I guess you all think this fella dumb as a box of rocks because he obviously hasn’t thought of using Jesus as the way to get this thing to leave? Crappy advice that could result in someone actually physically getting hurt. Funny how religion gets after science for having actual answers to problems in life (and unlike religion they admit they don’t know everything) but if someone runs into something scientists yet understand, religion is the only answer?!
How about this for an answer, “this isn’t good, we DON’T know”? Cuz guess what, you DONT know! Also, you think this guy hasn’t prayed? Rarely people don’t pray when in a weird and unsettling situation.
The only real advice here is if he can SHOOT IT. Leave your juvenile pious BS for church group, offer the man something he can use. Stop pretending incantations will solve a possible predator attack.

AAww Amy H, dont knock what you dont know anything about. I call my church my “free doctors”, as several times they have fixed things doctors cant fix, by prayer alone. I didnt expect it to work, but it does. …..My back was killing me, + it had “gone out” 5 yrs ago, + I couldnt move for 6 weeks. Doctor xrayed + said Id have to manage the pain for the rest of my life., so when it started again, I was terrified, but prayers fixed it in 5 days, 20% better each day. I have failing kidneys, + when they were hurting so bad, It felt like I had a broken rib, + couldnt turn in bed without screaming, I asked again for prayer from 1 lady, pain went, 2 wks later a test showed 20% increase in kidney function, which DOESNT HAPPEN. So we will tell our message as often as we please, because we know it’s true. Bless you.

I fail to see how saying a prayer can hurt. Taking pot shots in the woods is far more precarious than calling on Christ. Besides, one never knows what works until it’s tried.
It always boggles my why atheists go out their way to disprove things they don’t believe in. Where’s the logic in that?
If you don’t believe in it, why make a fuss?
Perhaps atheists suffer from the moral dilemma. Who wants to burn in hell?
Chris422
Autocorrect, It always boggles my mind why atheists go out their way to disprove things they don’t believe in.
Sharon K
Wow Amy you seem very angry.
Debbie S
Are you alright Amy? You do sound angry…..while most of us here are very aware that you are an atheist, this just doesn’t sound like a normal response from you.
Nick H
Nowhere in the Bible will you find the word “religion”, God is God not a religion!
Chris422
Really? Nowhere in the constitution does it say anything about free healthcare and yet over 50% of the country says it is a right! Maybe we shouldn’t play word games with serious issues.
Saul M
Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and advice.
I’ll let the group know how things progress. My son is doing
a little better but insists that we need to go back to the desert to bring the thing back.
I’m divided on this, but if it helps my son feel right that’s what I will do.
Take Care,
Saul

The first thing that came to mind when reading the description of the cryptid that Walker saw was Rake, or whatever ppl wish to call it, ie. fleshgait, skinwalker, etc. For some reason, the thought of encountering one of these beings scares me more than I think seeing a Sasquatch or Dogman or Werewolf would. I’ve heard several stories where a military official, or even the dogman/woman itself through telepathy, relayed to someone that dogmen hunt these rake beings, that’s their purpose. I don’t doubt that it’s capable of following you home. Maybe you could contact a senior Indian tribal member or shaman who may shed some light on how to handle this situation? Or, if all else fails, contact your local wildlife or forestry service and be very frank with them. I’ve heard stories on Vic Cundiff’s podcast of forestry officials contacting and showing up with an unknown agency and “handling” homeowner’s neighborhood dogman problem, so maybe they also know of these beings and know how to stop or discourage this creature from harassing your family?? Also, you should try rebuking it in the name of Jesus Christ repeatedly – I’ve heard that works sometimes as well.
