Woman Saves Scorched Koala From Australian Bushfire

I really like this story. The Sun writes “A woman rescued a badly burnt and wailing koala from an Australian bushfire on Tuesday (November 19).

The marsupial was spotted crossing a road amongst the flames near Long Flat in New South Wales (NSW).

A local woman, who told Australia’s Nine News her name was Toni, rushed to the koala’s aid, wrapping the animal in her shirt and a blanket and pouring water over it.

She said she would transport the injured koala to the nearby Port Macquarie Koala Hospital.”

Man things are bad right now in NSW Australia. Over 1000000 hectares of bush have burnt and are still burning. Over 400 houses are burnt and four people confirmed dead and many more missing. We are used to bushfires but this is the earliest our bushfire season has started. Add to that the worst drought on record and it’s going to be a long hot horrid summer.

I love clips of animals in the wild that are in desperate situations being rescued by normal people and in extreme cases by first responders and emergency personnel. Really touches my heart. Sincere hope this little fellow pull through.
