Watch: Cliff Barackman Behind the Scenes

A very small Q and A event with Cliff. Cliff Barackman from the TV show “Finding Bigfoot” talks candidly from behind the scenes. He reveals how much money the Discovery Networks pays the crew (Cliff, Bobo, Matt Moneymaker, Ranae etc…) to make an episode. He also discusses the reality of searching for Bigfoot while making a TV show and why the crew cannot stay in a hotspot.

These guys are clowns. They are in it for the money. They never find a damn thing. It’s worse than a republiturd debate. Don’t waste your time with this Wes. Hope you’re on the mend brother, and keep up the good work.

I do not agree about them being clowns. They are doing it for the money. It’s a job people. In their off time, Cliff and Bobo are both into BF seriously. Not a person here wouldn’t trade places with them in a minute! I do bet he was excited getting the vocals with all that crew with them. Nice man.

I don’t even know what to say! I saw these ‘assclowns’ when they came to my area of BC. Cliff was actually pretty down to earth…. But honestly yelling like a fool into the dark…blowing off fireworks to attract a highly intelligent unknown species….really??! Not to mention the countless $$$$$$ spent to reveal FA!! I agree with Wes this is the underlying sect discreaditing the actual truth that’s out there! Real people with real jobs recounting real experiences that have happened to them….bring validation that this is a living breathing species yet proven…..so to speak this is what the ‘scientific community’ keeps claiming it needs for validation!!Thank God that Wes started this show so that we had a non judgemental sounding board of fact rather then false assumption. Sorry for the rant my friends….I’m a new member who spends 300+ days in the Canadian wilderness as a profession and know a great deal about the subject and just so tired of all the smoke and mirrors…! Best Regards…Ryan.

I THINK JUST HAVING THE SHOW ON HAS BEEN GREAT FOR BIGFOOT! MORE AND MORE PEOPLE NOW BELIEVE OR ENTERTAIN THE IDEA THAT THE ANIMAL IS REAL. I HAPPEN TO ENJOY THE ENCOUNTER STORIES.I SAY KEEP ON LOOKING FOR THOSE BOOGERS!!!

It’s a TV show made for the public not us. These guys are told what to do and the show is scripted. I don’t hold anything against them and I’d take a paycheck too. You have to keep the show in perspective for what it is. It doesn’t hurt Cliffs credibility in my opinion because he is a researcher when not on the show as well. I give these guys credit because they found a way to get a paid looking for boogers.

I don’t think he meant that they each get paid 200,000 I think he meant that’s how much it cost for one episode. You’ve got to figure they have at least eight or 10 crewmen with the four of them so divide that up. And their lodging and food expenses and other fees I would imagine gasoline and such so they probably each get around 10,000 per episode which is not bad

Also included, post production, editors, music licensing, sound effects. The network, probably charges for promotion, airtime, insurance. They do 16 shows a year approx, I’m sure Moneymaker gets the biggest salary.
If Bobo makes 50k a year, I’d be surprised.

I think its interesting how the bigfoot show is very quickly editted and dummed down to make the subject seem a fringe idea [ again a tactic by the powers that be] same as mountain monsters and alaska monsters. The quick edditing suggests they try to appeal to the audience who have the attention span of a fish ie=3 second its very tony scott editting and ultra serious what was that, and it turns out to be bobo farting and this performs a add break. I think it just reflects the ratings obssesion in usa and how shows get cancelled if they don’t get top ratings within the first 2 episodes.

Whats interesting is that i heard that the lady sceptic on the show [ is it marie?] has actually had her own experiences and that her father did on his property so she is as she has said forefilling a role for a job to earn money. I also have read that several crew members in the filming team have seen things whilst doing filming but that would never be said.

I have to say in great britain when we do approach the subject on a documentary we do approach it with an open mind and are editting isn’t as quick as we do tend to look into it more. There was that series with the professor from oxford which did give validation to the subject but i still think in all honesty that behind the scenes things were done to stop sincere research. Don’t forget are tv isn’t generally concerned with ratings and the budgets arean’t as big so these guys are under pressure to deliver entertainment for that money so i do sort of feel for these guys as if they really had great footage then they would be told that they couldn’t show it as it would validate the reality of bigfoot.

Whatever you think about finding Bigfoot the fact is they have brought the subject into the mainstream and have made it more acceptable for people to come forward, in the UK this series has sparked other documentaries from the BBC and channel 5 as its a subject creating a lot of interest, we may not like their methods but at least all of them are trying and that deserves something, in one way or another we have all benefitted from the noise they created.
