A listener writes “I am e-mailing you from Eldorado County California, the Sierra Nevada area. The same county where my encounters took place.

I have recently began listening to your podcasts, and some of the details are earilly similar.

My first encounter took place in 1999 at Slypark Lake. I remember being surprised at seeing this thing, as we were at a county campgrounds. My girlfriend end at the time and I were out camping with a group of her friends, and that night there was a firework display in honor of a kid who had drown in the lake the previous year. Later that night, after the fireworks, my girlfriend and her friends and I were all hanging out on a bench at a spot on the lake we called The point. A small jut of land that cam out onto the lake, with the inlet where we saw this thing about 50 yards away.

It was a clear night, but dark. We all saw what I’m assuming was an adult sasquatch at the same time we felt the dread and fear overcome us. I don’t remember any knocks or whooping. All I remember, is seeing the sudden appearance of a set of glowing red eyes. They didn’t look like eye reflection shine. More like they were self illuminated. I remember thinking they would have looked like Spawns eyes, if they were green instead of red. Myself being into dark magic at the time. Thought it was a demon. You could tell the eyes were wrapped around a giant head. As the inlet was about 50 yards away, we could also tell that they belonged to a very tall creature. Probably about 8 to 9 feet tall.

We could see its silhouette in the darkness and could tell it was huge. We watched it for a while, probably about five minutes, looking around in the the tree line, weaving between the trees looking for something. I wanted to see what it was. Everybody else was terrified. I went to run towards it, but was held back by my concerned girlfriend. We watched it for a big longer before it wandered away into the night. It seed to not know we were there. I remember how it moved. Smooth. Didnt Bob it’s head at all as it wandered between the trees looking for…. something. We waited for a while to make sure it was gone before returning to our campsite. There were no other incidents that night.

The next day we went to the inlet where we saw the thing to look for prints. My girlfriend went to the point to compare my height (6’2) with what we saw. She said it was at least three feet taller than me where I was standing.”
