A listener writes “2 1/2 years ago after losing our farm in Central OH we moved to a very small farm on the northern edge of the Wayne National Forest. The first spring we were here I spent as much time as possible on the front porch, although there are several houses on this short road paralleling rt 93 and even fewer on the rd beside us going down the “holler “it is one of the quietest places I’ve lived in awhile.
After a few weeks I noticed that the dogs I would hear barking several times a day were being set off by a howl that didn’t sound quite right. So I taped it , you really have to listen close with earphones and have a knowledge of animal sounds to hear what the difference is. It lasted daily for the whole summer.
The next year and since the dogs still bark occasionally but the strange howl hasn’t recurred. Last year in late October I was waiting on the debate to come on in front of the TV, my husband had taken our dog out 2x and both times came in and told me there was a strange noise out there. The last time he came in and told me I had a few minutes until the debate started so I went out and sat on the front porch.
Immediately I started hearing what I thought was the worst imitation of a wounded or caught rabbit I’d ever heard. I almost laughed till I realized what I was then thinking. At that point I heard the beginning of the most bone chilling howl I’ve ever heard. It was the Ohio howl but the volume was unreal. It was coming from the other side of the farm across from us. It had the volume of a tornado siren, it didn’t sound like a tornado siren but it had the volume of one. As the first howl started to end another one started. There were definitely 2. Or 3 if you count the wounded rabbit. It was right across the rd from me. At that point I came in the house and locked the door.
Fast forward to New Years eve. As usual I was up by myself waiting for the ball to drop on tv. It was about 6 seconds til midnight when my dog decided she needed to go out. I made her wait til the ball finished dropping and I listened to half of auld Lang seine put my shoes on and put her on her rope attached to the end of the porch. Right as I was putting my shoes on before we went out the door I heard the neighbors 3 houses down start shooting off their guns. As Roxie is real leery of gunshots she was running back an forth on her rope and of course got caught on the down spout that runs out from the house. I ran down the steps and pulled the rope loose. The minute it was loose I saw a movement across the rd next to and inside of the pasture fence. At the same time Roxie noticed it to and started to bark.
I was still staring at it and all I could think was, damn Roxie, shut up…It was at least 4 ft tall it came to the top strand of wire on the fence. I’m only estimating that it was about 6 foot long, it’s color was a brownish gold with the porch light shining on the ends of its hair that stuck up as a yellow gold. It went over the fence at the corner posts into the next field to my left. Then I heard it crash into some brush on the fence rows I was looking to see it where I heard the crashing but no luck it was too dark. At that point I heard what I now assume was top wire on the fence go twaaangggg. Still I couldn’t see anything. I was standing there trying to get the clip undone on Roxies collar and looking the direction I figured they were going which was just up the hill. When you look up the hill you’re looking towards town and as towns do they give off light even on the darkest of nights.
At that minute I was trying to figure out why I didn’t Remember those 2 bushes within seconds the one on the right stood up. It was so fluid I was confused and I just stared until my mind could catch up. The out line against the sky there was a perfect shape of a bigfoot. Like the one you have on your pod cast. I have been trying to judge the height almost every night since. I am fighting my eyes and memory with this but although I want to say 13 , feet I will only say at least 10 ft. Tall. The width looked to be at least 4ft.
I thought I was prepared if I were ever to see one but nothing can prepare you. I have told my husband and a couple family members but the look I get is I want to believe you but I can’t. ….I have been watching your episodes and I have become a member before all of this came about. You’ll would never guess why. Thank you very much for listening to me.”

Whew! That’s a very scary witness recollection. So glad you have SC and felt secure enough to send this to Wes. God Bless you and keep you safe.

Wow! Thank -you for sharing your experience. So glad you and you Roxie are safe! Stay safe!

I imagine being where you are, some sort of activity will continue. It is your property, they know it, I would say embrace the fun. That Wayne National Forest is full of these grassmen. And remember what Trapper of the AIMS team ( Mountain Monsters ) says. That Grassman is the biggest and baddest of the Bigfoots. Maybe that explains the tremendous height. ( A bit tongue in cheek ).
I take it you live somewhere between Ironton and Jackson, OH. Very pretty area. SE Ohio I consider to be the best part of Ohio. Still Hillbillies around there.

I live in Ohio and grew up in southern Ohio. I believe there are Bigfoot here from personal experience. Would love to hear this lady on the show.
Robert C
I live in southern ohio as well. And would like to hear her story on the show too.

very Northern KY here on the tip to Ohio. Indiana border is only 20 min drive and there is a spot I must check out if the basis is true concerning them following the water, the Ohio has a few deep dark spots Ill be checking out

The Ohio River and its tributaries is an excellent choice. Lot of forest, swamp lands, and farms to raid. If you have not already, check out the Kentucky Bigfoot Site. Charlie Raymond and crew are some very good folks and have documented this area for years. It is amazing how many have happened on the outskirts of Lousiville. Good luck

Thanks for the cool story, sorry for the loss of your farm but now this is your new home, so now you know the dangers of your surroundings, I know you’ll be careful, you listen to Wes so you and Roxie should be fine, but hope you come on the program…

Yikes! What a creepy encounter! Be careful!

Sounds like another great show.
You’ve gotta appreciate how thoroghly brainwashed and propagandized much of the western world is when it’s populous believes more in the veracity of Presidental debates than in the existence Bigfoot.

A little off topic, but I just saw a movie called “Black Robe”, basically it was the colonisation of the Huron, Algonkan, and the Iroquois by French Jesuits in modern day Qubec and New York. Those first nations people saw things that had to be similar to bigfoot or Wendigo sightings. With as many encounters that Wes has had from Ohio and Pennsylvania, those native North Americans must have seen so many things. According to the Mohawks, during war party raids they would take as many captives back to their camps as they could. However, some would not make it back, because of outsiders stealing some of the women and children. Who were these outsiders? Were they another tribe, or something else?

I am from Southwest Ohio and I am looking forward to hearing the show. I was wondering what time it’s going to be available. I look at the woods completely different now. I haven’t necessarily heard of any Bigfoot in Butler;County except maybe a couple of reports but I have heard of them in Warren County which is beside our county. Can’t wait till this program is available online.

I’m sure you will do this but please keep Roxie safe and don’t tie her up outside without you being right there with her. BF have been known to kill dogs especially ones that bark at them. Keep an eye open as well when you are outside day or night and stay safe. Thank you so kindly for sharing your story.

Looking forward to more details on her encounter. Wes is really good at pulling out more info. Apropos of nothing…WHY are some comments in a white box? Just curios. Does anyone know??
Eric B
See?? I replied to your post.
Della K
I was curious about that as well …
