A monkey chasing a deer

A listener writes “Hi Wes, I wanted to share a encounter that I had about a month ago. I’m from north central Alabama, my dad is a Electrician and I have been working with him ever since I was little.

I go to school and work at a job at a Museum and it was my day off, so I was helping him at a lake house. Before this happen, I would go out alone and do stuff around the house to finish it up, I would go on the back porch and take breaks and eat lunch. I would hear whooping sounds coming from the other side of the lake. Sometimes I would hear people talking, but I would think it would be neighbors, but come to find out the closest neighbors was a half a mile away.

So, there was no way It could be them. I have been listening to your show from the very beginning, when you only had a few episodes up on iTunes, and I knew what Bigfoot whopping sounds sound like, I have looked them up on YouTube and I didn’t want jump to conclusions. I didn’t think that Bigfoot would be near me, I thought they would be south Alabama or little north of me in Tennessee. Ok, getting to the encounter.

My dad was in the attic and I was on the back porch of the lake house looking across the lake to the other side. I heard running from the left of the lake that had woods, see a deer running full speed and then I see a black looking, well at first I thought it was a black monkey that was chasing a deer, at first I didn’t know what to think, and this things was fast, I was more focused on the monkey before I know it another one comes down from the hill and tackles the deer into the water.

I see the deer come up from the water and the Bigfoot that’s in the water comes up, grabs the deer’s neck and breaks it almost in half. The one on the shore does this, all I can say is a victory yell and beat its chest. The one in the water throws the deer over its shoulder and they walk up the hill. I know I was about 50-75 yards away. It took me a long time to process what I just saw. And, I had to think about what I saw and I wanted to make sure that it wasn’t a bear.

I have seen bears before but, I know for a fact bears don’t run this fast nor do they walk up hill on their own two feet. It wasn’t a black panther, I know there has been confirmed panthers in Alabama, but I looked them up and it did not look like them. They were BIG!!! Like Shaq but bigger, and I have seen him in person and I know they were bigger than him. They had black hair all over is body, the hair had to be a few inches long, but I know there wasn’t any on the face. I couldn’t see the details of the faces. From far away they looked like The Planet of the apes monkeys. The arms were long almost to the knees and walked they were gliding on air, it was the weirdest thing.

Let’s just say I didn’t go back there to the house a lone. It took me a a while to get up the nerves to go across the lake, but I did go across the lake to see how all they were and the spot where they in and around the water had a tree limb that was at 7′ 9″ and it was just a hair under it. I don’t know if it was taller because of the slope of the hill or what, but that’s what I measured. We just finished up the lake house and I’m not planning to go back there, I have always wanted to see them, but now after seeing them, I don’t want to ever see it again. It was surreal, it was like I have seen them on tv and heard podcast about them, but then you finally see them, it blew my mind.

All I could think was, they are really real. But, then that was scary and I don’t want to see that ever again. I haven’t told anyone because I don’t want people to look at me like I’m crazy.”

    Poor guy. He KNOWS but can’t talk about it because his people will think he’s either nuts or just a big storyteller. There’s nothing worse than being dismissed. I would like to hear more about it on the show, though, so hope he agrees to come on.

    Holy crap!!! It is sad that he cannot share with a lot of people. Seeing one HAS to be a life changing experience. I believe in Sasquatch, but have never seen one. I cannot imagine seeing one and KNOWING for sure. Mind job for sure!!

    Good gosh!! What an encounter! I understand what this guy means about not being able to discuss it with anyone without catching a bunch of flak. Wes, you need to convenience this guy to go on the air and go into detail about his encounter. We cannot wait!!

    I think it’s very rare to see one and then to see two,and then to witness them actually killing a deer,this is amazing and probably very scary to watch. i dont think many people have witnessed them hunt and kill right in front of their eyes.I feel bad the witness can’t tell his family and friends but i know he would never be ridiculed here at sachron and i hope you would feel comfortable enough to come on the show. i’m sure the members would love to hear your encounter…thank you very much for sharing.

      I liked your comment. For sure its too fantastic as in full on to tell any body who doesnt already know about them….but what a champion first encounter. Will be hard to beat

    You are a rare one listener to watch and actual Bigfoot Hunt. One chases and the other ambushes it. I am convinced some of the tepee and other structures that can be found in the woods that are located close to deer trails are for that exact purpose. I know I found a pretty good one at Salt Foke Lake, have pics and video. Your present reaction in not un typical, and may well be the norm. A friend who witnessed one up close refuses to hunt anymore and can not imagine why I would want to see one again. He has gotten very emotional about it as have you.

    I hope you come on the show. If not thanks for giving us a rare and very useful presentation of a successful hunt. Now we can beat on our chest. Amazing.

    Hope he decides to talk to Wes. I wen’t through the same thing until I spoke to Wes and went on the show. I feel much better about things now. Great community here. Still won’t spread the news here locally though.

    My sentiments exactly June P. & Wendy S. (My sister ?)….. to believe but not having seen one is one thing…. but to then see one and KNOW they are out there is a completely different mindset! Like Wendy says about Wes’ feeling.. “be careful what you wish for….”

    I so appreciated the telling of this encounter. For some time I have said and reported in this forum that I have many times heard the clamor of the “big guys” doing a victory call! This is conformation that what I speculated, is true, they do rejoice vocally when they get food! I’ve heard this numerous times!

    I would love to know what lake this happened on as I live in Alabama too. The reason is so if I’m at that lake, I can be on the lookout for my safety. I have friends that live on a couple of lakes in North Alabama so I’m up there visiting often. Thank you for sharing your encounter.
