Tonight’s show will be up late tonight as I am traveling, tonight is going to be an interesting show. I will be inviting Jayson to the show and Jayson has been interesting the subject of Sasquatch for many years and nothing has really ever happened until recently.
Jayson writes “We recently have had a few encounters near the (removed) I wanted to share with you.
About a month ago (on the three day weekend) we were going camping and I decided to go up on Thursday to save the spot since I had a five day weekend. My wife drove me up but the spot we wanted was already taken so found a different spot and we set the camp up together before she headed back to Vancouver for work the next day. She left at around 6:25 pm and about 15 – 20 minutes later I heard something stomp on the other side of the small creek next to camp. A few minutes later I heard another stomp that shook the ground and then two loud steps.
I was terrified and had no car so I went to the tent and stayed there all night where I could here sounds all night over the heavy rain. At 5:45 am it let out a yell that had me shaking because it sounded like a gorilla but also human like. I waited until daylight before getting out of the tent and couldn’t see or hear anything. My wife returned at 4:30 pm and I told her what had happened and started to relax a little finally. We went to the creek which is only feet away from camp but I had stayed clear from that area all day. Across the creek is a nice wide trail and laying across the trail was a broken tree that wasn’t there the day before. We both knew what that meant but went over to investigate anyway (the creek is only about 10 ft wide and ankle deep with logs you can walk across). Once over there we found a track about 18 inches as well as some smaller ones and the tree had been twisted and broken at the base.
As we looked around I thought I saw a campsite with someone standing up to look at us so we went back across the creek thinking someone had gotten back there somehow to camp. Not long after that back at the camp there was a bird that kept flying over camp squawking like crazy then we heard a oop, oop sound coming from the left side of our camp and definitely on our side of the creek. Then I thought I saw a heavy set woman with some crazy ass coat walking on the trail across the creek but then she stepped into the woods and disappeared. Right around dusk we heard a whoop whoop from a little farther down the trail. We heard what sounded like muffled voices several times that evening but never saw a camp fire, flashlight or any sign of an actual camp site. My wife got up early the next morning and heard the muffled voices again, still just right across the creek. Our son arrived that morning around 9:00 am so we walked back over and discovered there was no camp site and no place anyone had camped or been.
On Sept. 30th we went back up there to get pictures of the twisted tree and just hang out for a few hours to see if we heard anything. When we arrived at the camp we noticed it looked a little different but couldn’t figure out what was off. We walked across the creek and started getting pictures and looking around. We walked a ways up the trail checking the area out. At one point we could smell something really bad but couldn’t see anything that would cause the smell. Then we started hearing a strange tapping coming from two different directions and decided it was time to turn back while trying to act as normal as possible.
We dropped off some food we had brought and headed back to the camp site. We built a campfire and ate some chicken we had brought with us and just sat watching the fire facing the creek. While I was building the fire my wife realized what was wrong with the camp, someone had raked it with a garden rake. You could see the lines from the rake and the piles of debris all around the camp. We were basically the only ones on the mountain this night but we did pass a forest service worker on our way up. It was just weird. It was getting pretty cold so I had built the fire up pretty good for the heat.
Everything was quiet, just normal sounds you hear in the woods. At 6:50 all of the sudden there was some crashing on the other side of the creek and then quiet again but it was just out of sight (you can only see a small part of the creek when at the campfire due to the brush). I asked my wife if she heard it and as soon as she said yes the crashing came across the creek and straight for us. We were being charged by something extremely large and mad! I thought we were dead. We ran for the car which was only 10 yard away with thing still crashing and charging at us. My wife dropped the keys that were in a pocket on her chair so when I told her to start the car she couldn’t. After a minute she had to get back out to grab the keys (she had drug her chair with her to the car trying to get the keys out). After starting the car we sat there a minute and listened but didn’t hear anything. We backed the car up to the fire and got out and loaded our stuff in the car and left.
On October 8th we went back again to try to find the path of the charge and just try to figure things out. We found were it came from on the other side of the creek and the path it took toward us. There were broken limbs everywhere about 8ft up and a clear path we were able to follow that headed straight for the camp. That confirmed it for us.”

And they kept going back? After the second time would have been enough
Jayson B
no, not enough. we will keep going back. just not going to camp there again.
David M
Wow!
Pamela C
You made your wife get out of the car to get the keys, really…
Jayson B
I did not make her do anything, she just quickly opened the door and got them.
Daniel D
Right?! My wife would’ve been inconsolable at that point so having her get out of the vehicle and get the keys would’ve been impossible. But in this guys defense the wife dropped the keys and the keys were on her side of the vehicle so…….. Sorry honey. Lol just kidding, I’d have gotten the keys on the grounds that at least if it rushed me I’m much faster than my wife and at least have a chance of getting away from the thing.
Jayson B
look she just got out and got them, thats all, it happend so fast. I did not tell her anything, she just opened the door and got them. thats it man thats all.
Jayson B
A WORD FROM THE WIFE: I can’t wait to go back up there. It is very fascinating and since the encounters I can’t get enough information. Don’t get me wrong, it was terrifying and I couldn’t get off that mountain and back home fast enough, but I was also ready to go right back the next day. As far as the stupid keys go…that was just hilarious, like something in a movie scene. I’m dragging the chair with one hand, digging in the pocket with the other, grabbed the keys, dropped the chair which jerked the keys right out of my hand. The crashing was still going strong so I got in the car. After we were sure it was quiet I went the one foot distance to grab them, then had a good laugh over the whole situation while I waited for my legs to stop jerking so I could actually drive. What an exhilarating experience!

Are you guys against taking anyone to this site? I live in Gresham, and have a friend, who him and I are seaking encounter sites for behaviour investigating. We are no pros by any means, but than again who is? Anyhow I had an encounter on Mt hood years ago, and was also on Wes’s show as well. Listen to EP 152. If your game let me know, i can find a way to get you my info. Thanks
Jayson B
I just got done listening to EP 152, I would like to meet you, I have no problem teaching or learning . you may be able to teach me things about Sasquatch, I know I can help you. Jill M
Come on everyone. It’s one of those “you had to be there” moments with the whole key thing. LOL. Thanks for sharing your story. It’s fascinating.. I would have been shaking in my boots.
Julie D
My hearts pounding just reading this. You guys be careful out there.

Washington rocks!

Jayson, don’t let the remarks bother you. I have heard such heartgripping encounters and the person is pouring their heart out and then go down to the remarks and people are on a tiraid about who was first to reply, or getting side tracked about something and nothing is even mentioned about the encounter itself, or thanking the person for coming forward, or giving encouragement. We tend to be armchair quarterbacks and most of us would not have the balls to do what you and your wife are doing. I know I wouldn’t have the courage. Hey, and remember, women fought for years for equality!! I hope you’ll come back another time to let us know your progress. Thanks Jayson.
Gary B
Jayson, thanks for sharing and don’t let the naysayers get you down.it took courage to go back and courage to share your encounter here on Sasquatch Chronicles!! but i do think if you go back i would be armed, only if for you and your families protection!! Large caliber at that.lol..

Hey Jason B, you are a lucky man as you have a wonderfully brave and enthusiastic research partner in your wife and these other guys are just envious. Thanks for sharing your encounter and stay safe and come back and tell us what happens next.
David R
Thanks for the story Jayson! It’s deer hunting season with rifle, so there could be people hunting around there. There could be people camping at that spot, and now could be a good time to check it out. Deer season usually ends on Halloween, and then Elk season opens after that. If there’s people camping there you could ask if anything has happened, and tell them your story. They mite laugh at you, but you’ll never know unless you ask. Think about it!
Jayson B
thank you for the positive thoughts, I want you to know that I am an actual researcher, my wife and I have been doing this a long time. We have been together 36 years as of Sept. 29th, we have been married 34 years come April 15. We have two full grown boys that were raised with this subject, and we have two grandsons. this is just the first violent encounter we ever had. I am going to take Wes up there. We dont like being a part of any group, we tried that years ago. so that is why you have never heard of us. I trust Wes is why I contacted him. I tried two other big name people and still havent heard from them. Wes got back to me the next day. We could have put this whole think to bed if someone would of just helped out, three times we have gone back, and no one is camped in this spot, three times a friend from work has gone and no one is camped in this spot. someone has even raked it.I never ever go out without a gun. and why you dont know us is we are not looking for fame or fortune. we dont make everything Sasquatch, My wife and I talk about this encounter daily , trying to figure out what the hell happend, it is nice to have a partner to do these thing with. and I want you guys to know that this is the first year that we have been out in 15, so we are a bit rusty, a lot has changed in 15 years. we are honest this is why I am telling you this. Please everyone have a wonderful day and may your encounters be great and safe.
David R
Jayson B. I’ve been to some of the old places I used to hunt, and it doesn’t take long for an area to change. I hope Wes goes with you to the area. Make sure your batteries for your cameras are charged up! Thank for telling all of us your story!
Oscar P
Can’t wait to hear this story first hand!
Jason, stay positive bro. Just let the chips fall where they may.
You guys are brave for opening this story to everyone, just want to say thanks.
God bless.
Michelle L
Very interesting story – thanks Jayson. I don’t get the raking of the campsite and have that stuck in my mind. Is this a normal thing to do at campsites if the last campers were messy? What are your thoughts on that? Why would it have been raked? Kudos to you and your wife for being brave, but as everyone here will say, be safe. Thanks.
Jayson B
no, the dirt was raked from the fire pit out, and left in piles. now it is just bare ground, very hard, cant leave a shoe print now.
Jayson B
and these camps are not regulated sites.
Tony W
Sounds awesome, in fact I’m going camping next weekend in the great smoky mountains just for 1 reason, sasquatch, I told my daughters boyfriends friend about bigfoot and how dangerous he can be, basically the facts about them, he didn’t laugh actually he asked me to go out and find stuff so that’s how the camping trip came about, just have to figure out where, I’m coming from the north and south Carolina side, if anybody knows a good spot to camp with hardly nobody around let me know, thanks
Eric
Safe travels Wes. Thanks in advance for coming on Jayson. Looking forward to the show, as always!
