Robert writes “I’m an Army Veteran, a husband, father, and a great admirer of the outdoors. I have always loved hunting and fishing since I was a young kid going with my dad. I always had an interest in supernatural things my entire young life and have had a lot of different experiences growing up that showed me that things aren’t so cut and dry in the world that we inhabit.
That being said, I was never really a believer in the phenomena known as bigfoot or sasquatch growing up. I thought it was an interesting thing to read about and completely put it in the category of things that just could never exist in the real world. I thought that things like this were just stories that people made up and passed down to scare kids and keep them from wandering to far from home, or to keep them inside when the streetlights would come on. I spent a lot of time in the woods growing up building Tipi’s out of sticks, pretending to survive eating wild onions, and taking my BB gun out and making the local bird and squirrel population fear for their lives with friends. For as much time as we spent in the woods as kids, we never had any experiences that would have led me to believe there was such a thing like bigfoot in the world. In high school a couple of friends and I liked to go coyote hunting at night in the mountains above my friends’ home. We had gone multiple times and never had much action; we would usually go up just for the thrill of going if I’m going to be honest. There was something exciting about being so deep in the woods at night with only a flashlight and a gun. On one occasion three of us decided to try out a different location a little bit farther up the mountain on a trail we never really went up to hunt before, some guys that leased land off of my friend’s grandfather had an impromptu blind built out of old fallen timber and we thought it would be a perfect spot to drive his 4×4 mule up to sit and do some predator calls to see what we could do. We drove up the trail and parked about 30 yards from the blind and got all of our things situated. We maneuvered to the blind quietly and squeezed into the small makeshift structure. We decided that one person would face down the mountain and to his left side of the blind, the middle person would rotate between up the mountain and down and the person by the entrance (myself) would face up and to his left side of the blind. It was a pretty steep and rocky-ish area where we were located not so steep that you were looking straight up the mountain. It was almost perfect visibility that night, the moon was shining fairly bright enough that after your eyes adjusted you could see relatively well. We were waiting about 25 minutes after settling in to start using a distressed rabbit call and called on and off for about 5 minutes or so, we waited another 40 minutes in complete silence before my friend in the middle tapped me on the shoulder and whispered, “Hey man I see something.”
He pointed and I followed his finger up to a large tree with some vines hanging from it. It took me a second to make out anything strange he would be seeing but just when I was going to ask him what he saw I could see a large silhouette standing just off to the left of the large tree approx. 50-60 yards away from where we were standing. I stared at it for what seemed like forever, but it couldn’t have been more than 15 seconds. I couldn’t believe what I was looking at, I turned to tap my friend watching down the mountain on the shoulder to get him to look and see if I was seeing things I told him, “Hey, dude I see something by this tree up here take a look and tell me if you see it too.” by the time we all turned back to the tree there was nothing there.
We never even heard a sound. How could something that large not make a single sound? I was filled with this overwhelming feeling of dread at this moment and could just feel that something was off. I explained that I saw something standing by the tree that I didn’t know what it was, we all became very uncomfortable for about 10-15 minutes more before we decided to leave the spot and retreat back down the mountain. On the way down my first friend that tapped me on the shoulder asked exactly what I saw, he couldn’t quite make out what he was seeing but he felt that something was there. I was visibly shaken a bit but explained that what I saw was a dark figure accented against the backside of the mountain standing slightly off almost leaning around the tree staring straight at us. It had huge broad shoulders and very long arms I couldn’t quite make out the head exactly, but it barely had a neck. It was head, traps and shoulders straight down to arms. It’s right arm was hanging straight down, and I assume the left arm was behind the tree it was attempting to peek out from. There was some brush in front of the tree as well so past the right thigh-ish area I couldn’t make out through the undergrowth. It messed with me for days after and I wouldn’t really say anything to anyone. My mother noticed something was off with me and kept pressing me to talk, she finally had enough and asked me what the hell did I do?
I explained the whole story to her and to my relief she actually believed me. I was so scared to even talk about it for a long time because of the ridicule that people get for these types of things. To this day I rarely hunt alone, and I am very vigilant when I enter the forest. For years after the incident, I wouldn’t even go into the woods. I don’t know what I saw in the woods that night, but what I can tell you is that it was very large, broad, 7-8-foot-tall bipedal creature that was staring straight at me, and it shook me to my core.”

Eric writes “I came across your show probably about 3 or 4 weeks ago and have been binge listening through episodes almost daily.
I had an encounter with what I believe may have been a Sasquatch in 2014 in East Tennessee when I almost hit one with my car, forcing me to slam on my brakes to not do so. I have only told 3 or 4 people about this because I can’t really explain what happened and through nervousness of sounding crazy.
In listening to the show, I’ve heard continuously how safe of a space it is to share these stories. I’d enjoy being able to tell you what happened to at least tell the story to someone who has heard and is open to everything, even if it isn’t something long or enamoring enough to be told on the show.”
