A listener writes “Hi Wes, There is a gorilla-man in West TX. In 2013 we bought 5 acres, the creeks are large with a lot of food. My husband caught a 10 pound bass at the park. There’s also crappie, catfish, turtles, crawdads etc. It’s a secluded area with a large amount of deer, turkey & other wildlife. The area is thick with woods & vines & pecan trees. You can take a few steps in some areas & literally disappears. It was fall or winter. The leaves were off the trees. I was vacuuming in the early morning. Out the window something caught my attention, maybe movement. There was a silhouette of a man at the edge of the trees. I assumed it was my neighbor stacking firewood because they were standing by a firewood stack. This “person” was about 300 yards away.
This wasn’t a man. It was a gorilla. A gorilla standing on two legs. Like a man. The head was an animal’s head, a gorilla head with the body of a man. A mountain gorilla with a sloped-back forehead on an almond shaped skull. The shoulders were enormous. The body long, thick shoulders & a some-what narrow waist. The thighs were huge. They were ungodly huge thighs. Like 2 tree trunks. The shins were small. Funny looking small. I thought, “They looked like a regular man’s shins.” I would say it stood at 9 ft tall, 800 pounds. I was very confused. I could not rationalize what it was. I studied it. I did not think it was a human. I thought it was an animal, a gorilla. I thought it didn’t move because it knew I was looking at it. It could see a very long ways. It’s instinct was to hold still. It never moved not once during my sighting.
My mind would not accept what it looked like, like a Bigfoot. I assured myself it was, “a tree that was trimmed, or fell in a storm or was struck by lightening & it somehow looked exactly like a Bigfoot.” I made a mental note to check on it latter. I told myself, “If it is still here, then I was right, it is a tree. If it isn’t here when I come back, then it is what it looks like, a Bigfoot.” Around 20 mins later when I went back…it was gone. I’m an Oregon girl in W TX. I know woods. My parents live in the pacific most northern redwoods less than an hour away Sent from my iPhone. When my husband came home from work I told him, matter of fact,”I think I saw Bigfoot.” I related the story to him & we just left it at that.
A few weeks later Caleb, my husband, went to set lines in the creek. When he came back he was disheveled & scared, he asked, “Did you really see a Bigfoot?” That was a Friday evening, Caleb didn’t check his lines until Sunday evening, completely out of character for him. Fishing is serious business around here.
My husband is 6’4 he is a corn fed Texas boy, a big guy, barrel chested, huge shoulders, size 14 shoes he’s my actual Bigfoot, anyways, he’s not one to be scared or intimidated. I asked him immediately after he told me what happened, “Did the hair on the back of your neck stand up?” He said, “Yes.”
While Caleb was in his boat, he had something huge enter the water. We have a 135 pound lab & Caleb said whatever it was, was 10 times the size of Maynard (our dog). Caleb saw this thing swim from one side to the other. He said when it entered the water it made huge waves that sloshed up on the banks. I don’t know if he saw it exit the water. I believe he said a rock was thrown behind him at one point, as if to distract him. He said about 10 minutes after that, there was a “wood-knock” so loud that up-and-down both sides of the creek all the birds flew off into air. We’ve only talked about this a few times. My husbands an atheist, he doesn’t believe in things “like this.” He said he would believe in God before he believed in Bigfoot. He has openly admitted that something is out there. This is HUGE. He’s a skeptic to a point of annoyance, but he had an encounter with something that has made him believe Bigfoot exist. He thinks they migrated through & we happened to see them.
We lived in the country on that 5 acre orchard for almost 2 years but we are now in town. Looking back we had other experiences. My truck would always be messed with, we would have pebbles thrown at our windows, knocking on the walls, growls & so forth. I even have a recording of what I think is a Bigfoot call and just this past weekend I took pictures of a structure out at the lake in a secluded area not far from our old country house.
I believe they (Sasquatch) are still there. I have tried to contact other Bigfoot organizations about this but never heard anything. This experience has changed my life. When it first happened there were times I wish it hadn’t. I wish I didn’t know they existed. It’s not a “normal” thing to believe. Caleb doesn’t like to talk about it much but he has had conversations with old-timers living around here about Bigfoot’s & heard some interesting stories. Caleb also was very interested in the Less Stroud Bigfoot segments. I know he thinks there is validity to our experiences. It’s hard to talk to him it’s hard to talk to anyone. It’s not just something you tell people.
I recently found your show. The similarities with my sighting and experiences compared to other’s has cemented my belief even further. Yes I believe in Bigfoot. I like to call it a Wood Ape. I did not realize until your show, that there are many sightings in Texas. My experience was not frightening. Thank goodness! I would like to be able to go back out there and look for more proof of them with professionals. Maybe you could help me find people who would be willing to go out there? I’m sending some pictures of where we lived and a video with a recording. I was filming the beautiful Winter Equinox when I captured this call from a HUGE animal that was down at the creek. I’m also sending a picture of the structure and a picture of the creeks merging.
Thank you very much Wes for your time. I hope to hear back from you”

wow Alan that’s a very kind thing for you to do, I can tell you just from being a female how many times I’ve just made little comments about what I’ve seen and how it’s really put a lot of drama in my life and what my poor son and doesn’t want to talk about I want to find people to try to talk to they say the strangest things like you don’t know nothing about Bigfoot Ira professional Bigfoot tracker blah blah blah blah or you’re just out to kill Bigfoot Bigfoot is peaceful and beautiful and people like you are mean to Bigfoot how dare you not leave food for them I don’t leave food for them because I don’t want them coming back but I think it’s very kind what you’re doing I wish I could have found that kind of kindness

That is wonderful! I’d love to hear more, especially if her husband would add what happened to him, too. I like her description, too.
Ginger T
Oh ! I was copying & pasting this from my notes to email last night, sorry, the part that suddenly stops & says “Sent from my IPhone” is supposed to be as following: “I’m an Oregon girl in W TX. I know woods. My parents live in the pacific most northern redwoods less than an hour away from the infamous Patty film. I was raised in Bigfoot country. Maybe if I was seeing this in Oregon I could have rationalized it but my mind would not accept what I was looking at that day. Not in a million years did I ever think I would see a Bigfoot; let alone, in W TX. I know what I saw, I studied it, it’s etched in my mind. I’m 100% a believer.”

We are very excited to hear from you, Ginger! I think you will find this forum and environment to be very different and special because of the family atmosphere and eagerness to listen. Please don’t feel discouraged to tell your feelings and experiences! What makes this community great is that you and your story are the most important element. It’s the little details of your experience that matter most. Welcome and THANK YOU for being here, we can’t wait to listen to your observations. Please extend this reception to Caleb too…
Ginger T
Thank you DrAaron for the kind words. This forum has been a life saver. I was feeling depressed & alone in my constant thoughts & obsession over this animal. Little did I know there is this whole other wold, a world of which I now belong. Hope this find you healthy & happy.

There is a little town named West, Texas, just on I -35 between Hillsboro and Waco—then there is the West part of Texas , which is huge but not very forested except in some places, around rivers and creeks and in the canyons.
Two different places entirely.
Patricia R
I must add—there ARE areas with a lot of woods—West of San Antonio is quite wooded with oaks and other things.
This is how people make comments without thinking—with a DUH.
JON F
Yes there are Patricia. I live in north central San Antonio and do some hiking out that way west of here. No Bigfoot sign yet but I keep my eyes and ears open.

My elderly cousin talks about the sloth on her porch. She lives in Boerne out in sticks.

Ginger,
I am sure you are overwhelmed with the unexpected sightings. The sighting can be traumatic even if you are on planned expedition.!
My husband and I have been on several expeditions with very experienced footers. The people who look into these very real creatures have a very varied opinion of what they are? We have experienced sightings here in Texas, New Mexico and Colorado. I am willing to assist you in any way you desire? Please do not leave food to entice them to return. Your opinion they are migrating thru your region, possibly is correct. The flooding in Texas probably has pushed a clan to complete for new home and food. I believe this is what has happened. The feral hog population can feed a clan with little effort on their part. They have to have a fresh water source that is usually flowing freely. Your area seems to meet these needs easily. I live in Lubbock. We have an active research area in New Mexico.
I am willing to show you photographic evidence and audio. Please fill free to request e- mail validation thru Wes. I give Sasquatch Chronicles permission to do this.
Regards,
Debbie L
Ginger T
Thank you Debbie !
I certainly want to see the evidence you speak of. I will request that info. I’m very new to this. I most definitely want to go on an expedition with seasoned researchers, specifically the locations here where we had our sightings. When we go out there it’s all about fishing, my husband is an avid fisherman. He doesn’t give me a chance to stop & look for arrowheads, let alone look for Sasquatch activity. When the horrible flooding was going on I was thinking it would be a good time to do some research here in hopes some have been pushed out & are in our area. Hope this finds you healthy & happy that you again for the information.

Cant, wait to hear the story. Stay safe out there ginger.

The picture you have along with the story is very misleading. It dosent look anything like she described. She said a thin waist, huge thighs and described characteristics of human body. You cld of put a pic of a gorilla and got away with it
