The show is now available! A listener writes “I am from Massachusetts. Back in 2004 my good friend Billy who has since passed away began telling these crazy stories about multiple Bigfoot encounters he had in central Connecticut. Not long after he was posting them on Facebook.
Everyone laughed and paid no attention but he was persistent. How it all started, Billy went to stay with his mother in Connecticut around 2004. He was attempting to get clean from a substance abuse issue. So that fact made his stories even more unbelievable for most people. But I knew Billy my whole life. Bill got himself into a bit of a personal mess. But he was an honest stand up guy. I had spoken with him a few times over the years and he told me some of his stories. He seemed genuinely frightened and sincere. He asked me if I’d go with him some time and see for myself.
He wouldn’t say where in Connecticut. Only that it was about an hour from the Massachusetts line. And he discovered this area from fishing expeditions he’d go on. Bill was an avid fisherman and loved finding remote trout streams that no one fished. He said you had to sneak through the back nine of a private golf course and walk about an hour in. There was a very narrow game trail that lead to a stream that pooled up into a small pond.it was part of an interconnected valley of lakes swamps streams and rivers at the base of a long network of hills varying in elevation. He only saw them in the late summer and the fall, and never any other time of year. They would be gone by late November, early December. Billy told me he got over his fear after a few seasons. and said they began to recognize him and would vocalize and shake trees and make “ monkey chatter” when they wanted to make their presence known. He said that usually he’d just start fishing. And after some time small rocks would be thrown into the pond in a playful way. Nothing aggressive or threatening. He’d bring fruit with him and leave it for them as a treat. Most of the time they were peaceful. But they never once let their guard down he said. Sasquatch are always cautious, always watching.
In 2012 I went to visit Bill and we went to a cemetery near the golf course where Bill would often go at night and listen for distant activity. We arrived around 9:00pm. We were just listening. Billy would do a few calls and we’d wait and listen. Around 11:30 we heard the loudest howl I’ve ever heard from an animal. After this 10 to 15 second howl the woods came alive with monkey chatter from every direction. It sounded like the circus suddenly came to town. It went on for about a minute solid and all of a sudden stopped. Followed by one more long single howl and again silence. finally in 2016 I decided to make the trek into his private Bigfoot preserve. But this time I’d go in with him. That’s what I would call it jokingly. He layed down a few rules for me. He said to shut my phone off and leave it in my pocket. No cameras no weapons. Not even a pocket knife. Do not run or turn your back on them and do not mimic any noise they might make. Do not stare at them. Try to use periferal vision if possible. We left early on a Saturday morning in early October.we rented a room for the night. By this time Bill was back living in Massachusetts. He lived a few towns over from me, about 20 minutes away. It was going to be a two day expedition. We arrived outside the golf course around 9 am. It took slightly longer than an hour and a half from the western Ma border city of Springfield.
It was lightly raining and the forecast called for rain and possible thunderstorms. The weather had been relatively warm for the time of year. The day prior was sunny in the 70s. On this day it was considerably colder. In the 50s. We brought our fishing gear and a plastic bag full of apples bananas, figs and grapes. Finally we arrived and parked in the same old cemetery as before . It was dark last time. And this cemetery was old. with tombstones going all the way back to the early 1700,s. We had to run almost 200 yards across the golf course, hop a fence and found the trail by an old oak tree with an orange ribbon tacked to it. Bill began to look very nervous. I asked if he was ok? His apparent anxiety began to give me anxiety. He said that for the most part they were peaceful.
Especially the real big one. He seemed to run the show. But their was one that seemed a little over wired as he put it. He would scream and follow me around. sometimes pushing dead trees down and throwing rocks and sticks. He would growl and make a chattering sound with his teeth. His screams and howls were some of the scariest sounds I ever heard Bill told me. The noises reminded him of a woman screaming in pain and terror, like a witch. It was terrifying he said. Billy said he stopped coming as frequently because of this outlaw squatch that he affectionately named “ the boogie man”. He wasn’t as big as the leader. But he was aggressive, strong and unbelievably fast. Billy said the “scary one” acts almost like a bully. And when he finally makes his presence known he’s relentless. He will push me all the way out of the woods until I’m back at the fence by the golf course. The only time the boogey man would stop was when the “Big one” made howls, grunts or growls.. Or a combination of. Which lead me to believe the “ Big one” was the alpha. He seemed to be saying knock it off. And then he’d leave me alone and he’d be gone all of a sudden. But each time when Bill would call it a day and leave, the boogey man would always follow him out. Messing with him the entire way. Billy believed the “ Big one” called him back or told him to cut it out. He believed the “Big one” made the distant howls that others in the area, mostly golfers and close residents would hear and talk about. The screaming witch howls were also documented by locals. On one occasion Billy had exited the woods back to the golf course. He was pushed further up the fence line by this squatch. His normal exit point was being blocked. He didn’t feel safe continuing on the regular path. The screaming witch howls began as he started to climb the fence. A group of golfers were huddled in a group listening. It was just starting to get dark.
They called billy over to ask him what the hell those screams were? One golfer recorded the noises on his cell phone. And another said “I’m outta here! the bad one followed me back to the golf course. A husband and wife team came driving over at top speed in a golf cart. and slammed the brakes on when they got to the group. They were locals and they said they’d better go. It’s that time of year and they get moody in the fall. They said do not go into the woods. It’s very dangerous. When asked what they were they shook their heads and drove away. The creature was going insane! It spooked the group of golfers off the course in fear. Two local police officers showed up and a third stopped Billy as he was mounting his bicycle to leave. A neighbor had called the police to report a missing dog. And said someone was screaming for help in the woods.they sounded like they were in a great deal of pain. Apparently their was a large disappearance of pets that summer. He asked Billy what he was doing, what the sounds were and why he was trespassing? Billy explained he was fishing and got lost. He didn’t know what the screams were?but he got spooked and exited at the golf course. Even the police looked terrified.
Everyone looked on in astonishment. Everyone had the same look on their face, terror and confusion. One of the police officers said to one of the golfers that the noises were common and dozens of reports were collected throughout the years of strange things in the woods. But no one could ever find what made the noises. And when the police officer was a kid a group of locals went looking for a missing girl. A 7 year old local girl with special needs. She was at a nearby park the next town over. There was an old state run mental health facility for children and teenagers. On state land with rolling hills and deep woods. This was the 1960s. The girl was never found and presumed drowned. and the search team said they were attacked by some animal that pushed them all the way back to their start point. They never saw it, but it was big and loud and knocked several trees down. When the girl was taken she was outside for okay time at a playground on the facility. The playground was right on the edge of the tree line. Another special needs boy the same age saw the abduction and was terrified solid. All he kept saying was “ monkey, monkey”. Anyways,I was terrified that day billy said. I didn’t say anything because he knew what everyone’s reaction would be. He wanted to fly under the radar. He was an addict with a record and he didn’t wanna be a person of interest by the local police. He got close enough I could hear him breathing and growling probably from less than 20 yards away Bill told me.
I was not happy that this information was not revealed to me prior to entering the golf course. It almost made me change my mind. But we proceeded. Across the golf course over the fence and on to the trail we went. We walked for well over an hour when we finally reached the stream and ultimately the small pond. It was densely forested. It was evident there was an abundance of wildlife. Even though it was early fall the tree frogs and crickets, birds and owls made their presence known. After a full day of fishing, exploring and looking for sighn we saw and heard nothing. We left at dusk and got back to the golf course when it was pitch black out. Nothing strange or out of the ordinary. We went back to our room for the night, and went back the next morning. Last chance I told him. We left the bag of fruit out there. He placed it high in a tree in the area they were known to frequent and upon returning the next morning the fruit was still there. We got our fishing gear out and began casting.
Since the fruit was still there my hopes were low that I’d see anything. After about 3 hours, a little after noon time. I began to get an uneasy feeling. It was eerily quiet. In a matter of seconds the birds the bugs everything went silent. I heard some tree snaps and crunching sounds. There was a lot of foliage still on the trees. Off in the distance we heard a large tree come down followed by a quick howl like grunt. Then a second one. The ground vibrated from the impact of the tree. The howl was a short burst. But very loud. Almost like a monkey hoot but on a much bigger scale. Hard to explain. Bill and I looked at each other. My heart began to beat fast. I felt like something was close. I started to get very nervous. Bill said relax keep fishing. A few minutes later I heard small rocks splashing into the pond. A total of 5 rocks were thrown into the water. Then a huge rock splashed in the water scaring the hell out of me. I started to smell something awful. Like an old wet dog mixed with urine. I could hear what sounded like talking coming from the ridge above us. Everything started happening fast. It went from zero to sixty in 3 seconds. It was definitely two of them. Chattering back and forth. Bill told me to reel in my line gather our things and follow him. We walked to the area where we had left the bag of fruit in the tree and it wasn’t there now! I couldn’t even speak. I was terrified. I could hear them on our left and right sides.
Billy started making these whooping calls with no response. We could hear things moving around us. On three sides of us now. Our escape route was clear but their was movement at our 12 O’clock,10 O’clock and 3 O’clock. We saw a down tree that was not there earlier. A 40 ft pine was up rooted and leaning against another larger tree. he reminded me not to panic and not run unless he does. I was looking off to my left when Bill whispered for me to turn to my immediate right but don’t look straight ahead. I did what he asked. Do you see him? It’s the “ big one” do you see him? Using my side vision the best I could I looked down the trail in front of us. Trying my hardest not to look directly at it I finally saw what Bill was trying to point out to me. Half way behind the huge pine tree where the fruit was hung . I could see him. At least half of him but it was enough. He was at least 9 feet tall and massive. I mean massive! This thing was huge! The smell was now over powering and I was to the point of gagging but fear kept me from dwelling on the smell. He was dark dark brown. It’s fur was matted in spots and I could make out small bald spots where skin was showing. His upper body was immense. His head was slightly cone shaped with no neck. He seemed calm and observant. He wasn’t swaying or moving at all. He was just watching us. One thing I clearly remember was the size of his jaw.
I never seen anything like it. It was terrifying how immense this animal was. Bill began making subtle noises like one might call a cat. After about 30 seconds of “ cat calls the “ Big one let out the most gut wrenching terrifying roar I’ve ever heard. It was a slow rumbling guttural sound that slowly escalated to a ear splitting howl. I then realized the howl came from the 12 o’clock area. The big one was at our 2 o’clock. Bill said “ it might be the boogey man. We then heard and ultimately observed chaotic crashing and thrashing from the direction of the howl. I could see a dark figure making its way through the brush. It was big and fast. It stopped about 30 yards from us and it appeared to get down into a prone position. I could see the hump of it’s back and it’s head. It was intently watching us. And it was slowly crawling on its belly. Now I could make out part of a face and head. I could make out the dark eyes and brow line. The big one who had remained motionless and silent finally let out a strange grunt. More noises now to our left. More were coming in from the 10 o’clock position but at a slow steady non threatening advance. The big one let out an identical grunt but louder this time. The advance of whatever was to our left completely stopped. We both then heard the big one start to growl.
At first it was a low rumbling like a cat purr. But got louder and louder until it reached a level where I could Acually feel it in my body. It was like nothing I’ve heard before. It’s very hard to explain. I was utterly terrified at this point. I tried whispering to Bill hey let’s get out of here. Billy said “what?” I re stated my request and again Bill said “what”? Obviously Bill couldn’t hear me. I said it louder a third time and the big one snapped. He yelled at me. It felt like he said to me “ shut up”! Bill did hear me the third time and he nodded yes. Bills appearance had changed. At the beginning he looked excited and inquisitive. Billy looked as frightened as me now. Something wasn’t right. I turned to my left and about 30 feet away at our 10 o’clock there was one standing there in the open. One second there was nothing there. It was holding on to a tree with its left hand. Just looking at us. I still refused to make eye contact. But I had to look. My curiosity got the better of me. Something was telling me to verify this in case it was a big practical joke. Deep down though I knew this was really happening. When we made eye contact it curled its lip and showed it’s teeth. This one was a much lighter in color. Some patches of black with some blonde and brown. It was probably close to 8 feet tall but not as big and wide as the other two. It was noticeably thinner. It began to walk across the path in front of us. Never taking its eyes off of us. It had a limp, it was very apparent.
I always here of how nimble these creatures are on their feet. This animal was moving slow and limping. It looked like it was in pain every time it stepped. It’s fur or hair looked like straw. It was matted and clumpy in spots. It looked rough. There were areas that had no hair. Like it had fallen out in clumps? It had dry mud or clay on it. And had twigs and pine needles in the fur. It was still enormous but clearly thinner. It walked across the trail from left to right. It’s arms were long and very muscular. It was breathing very heavy almost labored. You could see the muscle definition as it walked. It made no vocalizations. It would look at us then straight ahead, look at us again then straight ahead while walking. It was scratching its chest as it moved. At this time the big guy had moved from behind the tree into full view. The thinner one that was limping across the trail walked past him, around the tree the big one had been behind. then back across the trail again where it had came from. The big one was hurt as well . It’s left arm was clearly hurt. It’s arm was torn open. Large areas of hair were missing. It dangled to its side and never moved. I could see wet areas of red that I assumed was blood. The big one was also covered in mud or clay and looked rough. They were definitely not well groomed whatsoever. It looked like these animals were in a battle or something. No shiny gleaming long flowing hair. Just beat up battered and apparently angry of our presence.
It just stood there staring. Blank facial expression. At this time the thin one came back out at our 10 o’clock. It was dragging a small button buck by its back legs. No blood on the deer. Looked fresh. The deer looked so small compared to its attacker. Almost like a chimpanzee dragging a squirrel or something. It just showed the true scale of this creature. As it walked past us a second time I noticed a second animal carcass being dragged. In the other hand ,being dragged along like the deer was a fully grown German shepherd. And I saw the collar around the neck too. The shepherd looked like it was thrown around like a rag doll. It was all beat to hell. Definitely Someone’s pet. It was terrifying. It dragged them to the other side of the trail past the big one. Just then we heard another disturbance at our 10 o’clock. An all black one, that resembled the boogey man came out of the tree line. This animal was immense!! Bigger than the big guy! I couldn’t believe how huge this creature was. All muscle with a big belly. The other two had a very defined muscular physique. This one was immense but had a huge round belly. And it was definitely male. I could clearly see a male sexual appendage. That was pretty impressive as well! now that I can kinda joke about it. I could see No neck, broad shoulders huge muscles everywhere! It was closer to 10 feet tall. I was now terrified. I couldn’t move. The smell in the area was overwhelming.
It was a mixed scent of wet dog, urine, burnt hair and now I could smell the unmistakable odor of death. Rotting flesh. I spent 10 years in the Marine Corp. I’ve been in combat twice. I know what death smells like, and it was mixed in and overwhelming! It was an awful smell. I can to this day still recall that smell. This all black monster never once acknowledged us. It never looked at us. I could make out some of its facial features. Again it was definitely male.. He was more ape like than the others. It seemed very calm and non threatening. It never made any vocalizations. The others had an ape like look but some Native American features too. A mix of both? Bill disagreed with my observation and said it was because of the different angles they were standing in relation to us. They all had big black eyes and huge teeth. Bill said they had canines but I couldn’t tell. I could just make our teeth. It was dragging something behind it. It was mangled. I couldn’t make out what it was. It was bloody and had fur. But was obviously torn up and tattered. It had a tan color to it like a deer but it wasn’t a deer. It was too big. I didn’t have enough time to further examine what this creature was dragging. Billy broke my silent shock and awe by whispering “ the boogey man isn’t there anymore? I asked again what he had just said. Again Bill said “ The boogey man isn’t on the ground in front of us anymore! And he was right. The boogey man was no longer at our 12 O’clock. From directly behind us I could hear something. Heavy breathing and a low rumbling constant growl, again like a cat purring but on a much bigger scale. It sounded like it was only a few feet from us. I turned around and nothing was there . Bill turned around and stared for a few seconds and turned back. He’s right there bro Billy stated. I said where? He’s up in that big oak tree to the right. About 30 feet up. This animal got up, walked around to our 6 o’clock and climbed a tree and we both never saw or heard a sound! My knees got weak. I honestly felt like fainting. I wanted to get the hell out of there, but to do so we’d have to walk straight past the boogey man in the tree.
Billy suggested that we go. It was intimidating us. They didn’t want us there. The other three were all huddled together by the big one now. They all were staring straight at us and showing their teeth, heads slightly upwards and following every move we made. Bill never told me but he had brought with him a BB pistol that resembled a 357 magnum. He had it in the small of his back. Bill presented the pistol and held it down to his side so they could see it. He never pointed it. He just held it to his side. I thought it was real. Now I was shitting my pants. The huge quiet all black one that seemed so quiet and reserved made a bluff charge at us. He stopped about 15 feet short and just started screaming at us.then it ran into the woods to its right our left. And it sounded like a bulldozer driving through the forest. It went nuts. A collection of noises.screams yelps grunts and god awful hissing sounds. The “ Big one” was in a slightly crouched stance now It’s arms never left it’s side,it wanted to kill us. It was so angry but unsure what to do. It never moved towards us. Neither did the thinner smaller one that I now think was a female. It would occasionally look around and whistle. The female did some bizarre chattering. It could almost pass as some strange language. The huge fat black one never came back and we never saw it again. It was time to go. We turned and started walking down the trail. We left our poles and tackle box. We just wanted to get out of the woods. We had an hour walk out. We started to approach the tree where the boogey man was. I was waiting for it to jump down on top of me. I was so scared. Billy said do not run. Stand your ground. It was quiet as we walked past. He was still up there. But for whatever reason it didn’t make a fuss.
I could hear it breathing and an occasional leave or two would float down from the tree top. I remember thinking to myself “ hey their gonna let us walk out peacefully. All I remember was something all black the size of a Volkswagen up in the tree motionless. Billy and I never ran. But we walked at a very fast pace. Billy was 6 ft 5. I’m only 5’8. Billy was gaining ground on me. My speed walking strides were considerably shorter than his. I started to lose sight of Billy in front of me. I yelled for Bill to slow the f*** down. As I muttered the final syllable of that last word all hell broke loose on our left and right sides. They came out of nowhere at a break neck speeds. They both stopped as they came parallel to us on the path. I was looking to the left Bill to the right. There was still quite a bit of foliage still in the trees. The forest was dense. Lots of dark shady areas from The overgrowth of big pine trees. I was straining my eyes looking in the area where they had stopped. After about 10 seconds of trying to see something I saw a face. No body no arms no legs. Just a huge scary angry face poking out from between two bushes. It blended in perfectly. It blinked and I just happen to see that blink. It was motionless and staring straight at us. When it noticed I saw him it curled it’s upper lip and exposed it’s huge teeth. It opened its mouth wide its head was almost pointing upwards. and just then it let out the fucking roar of all roars. I never told billy I saw it. Upon hearing the roar Bill screamed. Bill screamed like a frightened girl. It was an instantaneous scream of pure fear. He then yelled “what the fuck” ..the vision of that well camouflaged face staring at me still haunts me to this day. This thing wanted to kill us. I was sure of it.
I took out my buck knife that I wore on my belt. I kept it out of sight until now. I said Bill their trying to flank us. We’re in the open. We can’t stay here we have to move. I remembered their was a river close to where we were. I remember seeing it the day before. It was the Connecticut river and we were close to it. This part of the state was loaded with wetlands. It was part of the Connecticut river valley. I said to Bill let’s get to the Connecticut ( meaning the river). We B lined for the river. I thought it was closer but it was about a quarter mile away. We ended up at a full sprint once we saw glimpses of the river through the trees and brush. We didn’t hear them for the first 8 to 10 minutes while changing course towards the river. I was hoping they relented but I was wrong . Coming down a steep hill to our right was the female. She was one of the two creatures that pursued us. She was coming fast and hard. The woods came alive with the sounds of breaking trees and branches. We could see her coming, leaving a wake of downed vegetation and saplings as she made her way towards us. I thought for sure she was going to beat us to the river. But for whatever reason we got there first and jumped off a 15 ft bank into the water. The golf course was up river not down. We kept to the middle and for a while the current was slow enough we made some progress swimming against the current going up river. It followed us along the bank as far as it could. It threw rocks at us. These creatures didn’t just throw rocks. They could throw them with speed and accuracy. But still there was only the one creature. I was very concerned about the second creature which I assumed was the boogey man. But he was no where to be found. We got to a spot on the river where the sides were extremely steep and very high. The water was so cold and we were both shivering uncontrollably. Bill had a zippo in a plastic bag and wanted to make a fire on shore. I said no way let’s get back to the golf course we cannot stop! It was after 3 o’clock and because of the time of year it was going to get dark soon. The terrain was such that it was unlikely anything could continue following us on our right side. Unless this creature wanted to jump over 70 feet into shallow water when it was already visibly hurt I figured we were ok to get out of the middle. and walk along the opposite edge of the river in the shallows away from the right side where we were being stalked. We could definitely gain more ground this way and get home.
Around 4:30 we got to a spot close enough to the golf course where we could get out of the river bottom and start walking up. My cell phone was ruined. Everything happened so fast I never even had the chance to take it out and use it. We cautiously made our way through some very heavy growth and swamp. We could hear a road and finally saw the fence line. We got to our exit point by the golf course when we noticed a huge section of fence was down. It was approximately a 10 foot section. It was lying flat on the ground. Like a steam roller had flattened it. Something wasn’t right. It wasn’t like this 8 hours earlier? It was flattened by something on our side of the fence, coming from the woods side entering the golf course. We didn’t care we wanted out and walked on to the fairway. We were walking towards a hole that had a small stream running down the middle of it and there was a decent size bridge going over the stream for golf carts. Under the bridge it was black, pitch black. I had a terrible feeling something was waiting for us under that bridge, in the dark just waiting. There were no golfers, no grounds keepers no employees no one on the course. Things got ominous yet again very quickly. We stopped dead in our tracks at the same exact time. We both felt it. We both turned to our right, changed direction and decided to head towards the club house . If we got arrested for trespassing we didn’t care at this point. We were cold scared and hungry. We wanted out now! We heard a splashing and a thud. We both turned around to see the boogey man running straight towards us. 100 yards away. It was under that fairway bridge after all and was responsible for taking that fence down. It was on all fours coming right at us. It was a horrifying sight. We started running. We were soaked and it was difficult to run but we did as best we could. I could see the clubhouse Now. I could see lights and cars and people. This thing was so fast on all four.
I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I could feel it’s thunderous steps. I could hear its labored breathing as it ran. I thought for sure it had us. But just like that it was gone. It took a second section of fencing down as it ran back into the woods once it got within 50 yards of us. Maybe it seen the clubhouse too? It broke off its attack and returned to the now dark woods and finally, it was over. I’ve saved this story as a draft for nearly a year. I’ve only told two other people. I was never going to make this public. It wasn’t so much what people would think. It was remembering this day and how scary it was personally for me. Everything happened so fast. It was clear and evident what I saw and faced off against that day. I still find it hard to believe. It changed everything I know and how I view our existence on this planet. What we know and what we don’t know. My friend billy is gone. Pancreatic cancer took his life a year ago at the age of 44. I miss my friend dearly. We didn’t talk for a while. Only until his diagnosis with cancer did we reunite and discuss what had happened that day. I swear on everything this is a true story. It’s hard to put it into words. But this happened to me. And I’ll never be the same again.”

Ok, I don’t know if you’ve done the interview yet so I don’t want to jinx it but… This SOUNDS GOOD !!
kyle N
Any idea what episode this is
Renee S
Good grief! What a huge story! Hope he’ll come on the show!
Leslie H
WOWZERS! That’s some crazy shit right there! They were lucky to make it out alive!
pam
wow, just wow!
Ben H
Holy cow what an experience! I hope Wes has this guy on the show.
Trent M
So many questions…. and I know they can’t be answered. What caused all the injuries? Was it a power struggle within the “troop”? They had food so why so angry? I’d love to hear more from this gentleman and I’m sorry for the loss of his friend as I’ve sure been through that! But Pam said it best, WOW!
Tedd
I’m very grateful that you chose to share your encounter and I hope it helps you to share with those who believe and will support you. Sorry for the loss of your friend, he sounds like me, I’ll go looking for desolate trout streams no matter the amount of walking, scratches and little biting critters (ticks, mosquitos) thank goodness nothing like the monsters he found! I would love to hear you discuss this with Wes, if you should choose to. Thank you for your service to our country and sharing the information.
SamSquanch
That’s incredible. I wonder how many people would have similar stories had they just made it a few more feet and lived to tell the tale…
Richard W
Quite a story! Wes, have this guy on.
Bob C
Thank you sharing, wow what a experience!
Chet Manly
As a CT resident, I am flabbergasted that this sort of encounter took place in Connecticut. Unreal. One of the best and craziest I’ve heard. The Central part of the state is a big spot for activity. I’m sorry for your friend. Wes needs to have you on the show.
Rick F
Wow!
I live in RI and to hear this story makes me think New England isn’t a BF free zone.
Fergus C
Wes, you have to have this guy on the show!
Lorrie S
Thank you for your courage and honesty to share your story. It’s a miracle you both made it out alive! I wonder if they were upset because Billy had not come alone? They felt threatened? And when the gun was shone all bets were off!! I’ve read that in other stories, they know what a gun is and go berserk when they see one. So sorry you had such a terrifying experience, but sharing helps so much!
Daniel E
Toby H I agree. Wow that was some story.
SHANNON D
Wow!! I live ten miles east of Springfield, Mass.. Do you think the man who told this really meant the western part of CT? To try and keep the place secret so people wont go in and getting hurt? Most of the Mass and Ct encounters are the Berkshires and Western Ct down the route 7 corridor… Oh and thanks for sharing !!! God bless!!
Mike B
Simply amazing.
Ray R
This was a very good story, and thank you Wes
Asheim
Thank you for sharing this story/encounter. I cannot imagine enduring what you did. I hope you will come on the show. This by far is one of the scariest encounters I’ve ever heard or could imagine. It sure taught me that these beings are dangerous and unpredictable even if you think you’re doing everything right. You were on their turf and in their world. It appears they have some very heavy duty battles amongst themselves or other troups. Hope I don’t have nightmares tonight.
Bal G
Good Lord! I just read a Stephen King novel. This guy should find a publisher and write a book about this encounter. I’ m being serious.
Ulrike H
My blood pressure is up!
What an incredible encounter. Terrifying.
I’d love to hear this man tell his story to Wes.

Absolutely incredible, sorry for losing your dear friend. I lost someone last week too. Still can’t believe he is gone… A friend who I thought of as a true brother, hunting buddy, someone to talk to. So, so sorry for you… again thank you for your sharing.

So sorry Peter to hear about your friend. Just know he will always be with you ?

Omg, just from reading this I’m shaking. I would’ve had a heart attack. I know this is a old post, but for what it’s worth, I’m sorry to hear about your buddy. You guys experienced something together that probably not many friends could share.
How could you keep from not passing out from all of what you guys went through is crazy. What’s more crazy is something like this is kept hidden and under the radar from the public. Take care and thank you for sharing ????

~ Friend from Massachusetts,
I’m so sorry for your loss. So glad you’ve found SC and an outlet to express this horrible experience. I hope you’ll be willing to talk on air with Wes. It’s therapeutic thing they say. Thank you for sharing. It couldn’t be easy relieving it again.
Blessings to you and yours. _m

Wow what an amazing story. really sorry to hear about the cancer…. that sucks. I would really really want to hear an interview. there’s got to be so many details that are left out they did an amazing job writing it out but there’s so many questions.

This is a very well written account. I’m from CT and my first thought was that this event took place in or around Moodus. It’s in the least populated part of the state, and the terrain is famously craggy. There was is report on BFRO from that area. Moodus is about an hour from the MA border. I looked on Google maps and lo and behold, there’s a the Black Birch Golf Course, surrounded by state parkland. There’s an old cemetery nearby. The description of the river didn’t sound like the Connecticut. It’s way too big. But the Salmon River runs right through that area. The Salmon River fits the description of a waterway surrounded by steep banks.

Dear God, this is the most horrifying thing I’ve ever read. I would have major PTSD if this same event had occurred in my life. A side note–it makes me super sad that a beloved pet, like that German Shepherd, could become a meal for one of these filthy monsters. My two hound dogs stay indoors with me at night–they can guard the house just fine from within, thank you very much, and it burns my butt that people would leave their pets outside unattended to get taken by one of these monsters. I’m a true blue bunny-hugger, but my love for nature does not include these creatures. I think the world would be a lot better off without them.

Holy :poop: Batman… I would love to hear this encounter.. I am very sorry to hear about your friend passing.. I hope in you telling your encounter you get some relief … These Creatures are nothing to play with .. they are not what we think they are..

I don’t know how you and your friend lived through this encounter? I can’t imagine the terror you both went through! I am truly sorry that you lost your dear friend, may he rest in peace. You have provided so much information about their appearance and behavior I’m sure it will help to educate people about them. I would imagine this is how many of the people in David Paulides’ Missing 411 books lost their lives! Thank you for your bravery in coming forward with your encounter and thank you for your service.

Holy ?! I think I have ptsd just from reading this story! ?

Billy must have been really addicted to the adrenaline rush that comes with being in such a state of fear to have made repeated visits over time when he knew what was waiting for him…..

Holy guacamole! That was one truly scary day. I’d give up fishing after that. And golfing. Possibly hiking too. Thanks for sharing.
