This Week On Sasquatch Chronicles

Wednesday Night: Elkins Creek Encounter

On Wednesday night I will be speaking to retired Deputy James P. Akin of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office in Pike County, Georgia. He will be sharing his experiences for the first time on investigating a property where a man claimed that these creatures were tormenting him. He said late at night the creatures would tap on his windows, throw rocks at his home and they killed his dog.

On November 15, 1999 I received from Dr. Jeff Meldrum a plaster cast footprint. The cast was made by Deputy James P. Akin of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office in Pike County, Georgia in 1997 from an impression found in the Elkins Creek flood plain. The cast was 17.5″ long and 8.5″ wide.

The Elkins Creek casting was examined over a period of several months and I observed several areas on the cast where primate dermal ridges appeared.

This ridge flow is consistent with the ridge flow of the 1967 Blue Creek Mountain Road casting and the 1984 Walla Walla, Table Spring casting.

Based on the conclusions reached after careful study of the Elkins Creek Cast I give the following opinion:

The Elkins Creek Cast is that of an unknown primate.

Friday Night: Encounter with two creatures

I will be speaking to two witnesses. The first witness is Rick from Wisconsin. Rick was working on a construction site in a remote location when he got off of his dozer to relieve himself in the woods. As he looked down an embankment he saw what he thought was a bear until it got up and walked off like a man. He soon realized he was not looking at a bear nor was it a man. He says “I had no clue what it was at the time and a little one was following it. The little one would get up on two legs like a child then go back to all fours, it was the strangest thing I ever saw.”

I will be also be speaking to Tyson. Tyson writes “Three years ago, I was working as a teacher and mentor for a school for “At Risk” youth. Each year they go on a two week camping trip in the Uintah mountains. The state allows them to use this property that is out on the edge of nowhere. The scene is on a flat, cleared area up to the river. On the other side of the river was the summit of the mountain. The area past the mountain is vast and no one was, or even could camp there. Much of this land is only accessible on foot or horseback. Atv’s are illegal here. The one bridge to cross the river was on this property. When I signed up for my shift, I chose to do night security instead of working during the day. Monitoring kids in the wilderness for that long was not my idea of fun. Night security was responsible for doing a head count every hour. The kids are never allowed out of their tent and if a bathroom break is needed, they had a sign to put outside the tent. Upon seeing this, I would escort them to a tree of my choosing. These kids rarely woke up for this however, since they aren’t allowed liquids after 7pm and most of them are prescribed sleeping pills.

On our 2nd night, my rounds went without incident until 4a.m. Normally after doing my count, I’d go back to my shack. My wife texted me and since she wasn’t asleep I figured I’d call her. I couldn’t believe my luck that there was even cell service up here! I was almost whispering while talking to her, careful not to wake the kids. I walked without my light on down to the river bank. The moon was high and pretty full this evening. I remember thinking how beautiful this seen was.  I could see everything in the moonlight alone. The river was raging in full swing with the runoff. Because it was so deep, the water ran un-obstructed and therefore made little sound. On the opposite bank,  there was VERY dense brush and trees for about 25 yards at which point the mountain peak went straight up around 400 feet.

During the next 20-30 minutes of standing there in near silence I heard a few limbs snap and what sounded like a rock roll down the mountain. No big deal…heard it before.  Suddenly, directly across the bank from where I was standing, a raccoon yelled! He raised hell running through the brush along the river. I’ve heard raccoons many times, especially them fighting. This was different. He was trying to get away from something. He ran down the bank weaving through the foliage. I asked my wife if she could hear it through the phone but she couldn’t. He continued until he faded out of earshot.

Now for the interesting part. Around 3-5 minutes later he comes back from the same direction still yelling for his life. When he got in the same spot, directly across from me (The same spot he sprung from initially) his pitch spiked high and the volume went even louder. This lasted only around 2-3 seconds until his scream was cutoff with a “Yelp”(like a dog in sharp sudden pain) Then silence. So I’m thinking aww something got him. But what? So I tell my wife to hang on while I listen and watch. I wanted to see what had gotten this raccoon. I couldn’t see anything in the dense brush although the river bank was only 15 yards away. I turned on my light and scanned the area. Just about the time I realized the light wasn’t helping, I hear the BIGGEST tree break in my life. It was so loud my wife yelled “What was that?” Let me tell you, it was like something broke a 16 inch tree in one motion. I didn’t hear the individual fibers crack in the milliseconds before and after the main break. The only thing I can equate it to is a shotgun blast. So now I’m thinking “What could have done that?” My wife had never really believed that Sasquatch could exist. I’m an educated man and love to study history and wildlife. Consequently, I had seen many bigfoot shows and believed in the possibility that they could exist for multiple reasons. However, bigfoot was the furthest thing from my mind.  My brain tried to explain away what just happened. It wasn’t until what happened next that I knew it was only one of two things watching me.

A few minutes of dead silence went by after the tree break. I watched for movement and could only see slight tree movements out of my peripheral vision. I listened intently but couldn’t hear anything over the water flowing. Then from the exact spot of the raccoon/tree break I saw what appeared to be a game bird or an owl shoot straight up in the air into the moonlight. As I focused in on it hovering briefly in the sky, I saw a fleck of light glimmering as it rotated which could only be one thing. That’s when I realized…it’s a river rock!  A Granite river rock that is a little bigger then a bowling ball, and 30 yards in the sky? Granite is plentiful here, and it is always flaked with Quartz. Just as It struck me what it was, the rock descended. I lost sight of it for a split second as it left the moonlight into the shadows and the next thing I knew it hit the river 3 feet in front of me, splashing water on me in the process. Yes, my wife heard this over the phone too! It’s funny how the brain works because I still was trying to explain it away       as something else. It wasn’t until my wife said “I’m really surprised you haven’t thought of a bigfoot yet, what else can do that?” Right then I left back to my area. I felt save the entire time with the 5-6′ deep river separating me from all of this. That is until Sasquatch was brought up.

I apologize for this being long winded. There are a few smaller details I will leave out obviously. I just have a few questions. In December when I initially emailed this, I wondered “Has anyone reported these creatures killing raccoons like this”? Since then, I’ve learned it’s common. Especially from your guest who ripped one from a tree and ate it! Do you the act was for food or just annoyance with it?  Do you think another one was further down? I thought about it afterwards and why else would the raccoon come back? Also, could it have cleared the 15 yard wide river if it wanted to attack? With no running start of course due to the foliage.

I’d appreciate it if you could take a second and let me know what you think. My research led me to your show and I’m glad it did. You are great. I don’t care about being on the show obviously since my encounter is very mild in comparison to your guests. I wouldn’t mind telling you about it over the phone or tell more through email if you’d like.”

There are more encounters in Georgia than gets reported. I know for a fact because I know of a few,and had an encounter myself. People don’t speak of them because of the retucle . there 3 in Worth County and one in telfair County. We have plantions (hunting clubs) celebrity’s and even vice President Dick Cainy. I worked as a mechanic that toke care of the equipment. Most locals don’t know where they are some drive by and not even realize they are there.

Hey Jonathan B, Dick Cheney didn’t accidentally shoot anybody did he? He’s been known to do that once in awhile. I wouldn’t have let him hunt with anything bigger than a potato gun.

Wow Wes, how do you keep doing this? Every single episode on SC since you started hosting solo has been absolutely amazing. And some how some way you keep topping the previous episode which is dumbfounding to me because each of them are just that great so it can’t be an easy task. Week after week you seem to be picking up the pace and taking the show to another plateau with no signs of slowing down. I don’t know how you keep finding all these great guests and not only does that make for a great show but your hosting skills are off the charts my man. And from the looks of it you worked your magic yet again with another impressive lineup for this week. You keep doing what you’re doin and believe me we will keep listening. It’s funny how when you and Woody first had your encounter, you guys would ask yourselves where and who do people go to to talk about these types of encounters?? I just think it’s kinda ironic that you ended up being where people were goin to talk about their experiences

Looking further into the dermal ridges I found that a J.H, Chilcutt, Latent Fingerprint Examiner for the Conroe Police Department, in his opinion, thinks “The Elkins Creek Cast is that of an unknown primate.”
The unknown ridges do match other casts of suspected Sasquatch in the US. Chilcutt claims “This ridge flow is consistent with the ridge flow of the 1967 Blue Creek Mountain Road casting and the 1984 Walla Walla, Table Spring casting. ”

On these unknown dermal ridges, sweat pore imprints could even be seen with a magnifying glass.

Although he found what he believes to be “accidental occurrences” from the person who took the cast. It appears someone accidentally left their prints in the middle of the cast which isn’t really a bad thing because it gave him prints to compare.

Pike County is in West Central Georgia. I also personally know of a sighting in the Stephens County area, which is in NE GA, at the foot of the Appalachians. If you look at the BFRO map of GA, we can see activity is scattered all over the state.

Thank you for the video you did a great job. I look forward to seeing you again in Portland at the Sasquatch event. I know I shared about my experience in Esticata Oregon and have thought about trying to relocate where I saw the prints but I’m too scared to go back up there. I sure wish someone would go to that location and. Heck it out. I know it has been years but I’m sure they are still in the area. Thank you love the work you are doing.
