Todd Orr posted a video after being attacked by a grizzly bear and I am glad he posted it. I always tell people to go armed because there are a lot of things in the forest that can kill you. Be safe everyone.

Damned lucky to be Alive. Wow! We’re in their home when we’re out there. She coulda killed him but didn’t. Maybe the spray kicked in after a few seconds ~ wow !

She got him good. No telling what he s gonna find when he pulls that cap off. Bet he wishes he woulda had a pistol.

My god, he was almost bear food! He’s a tough dude man, to take the time to do a video when he’s torn up like that, cuddos to him. I hope he is ok. I don’t trust non lethal measures for staving off an attack from a wild animal I know big cats can take a round from a high powered rifle and keep coming so a grizzly might just be annoyed by bear spray. if an animal is coming at me with lethal intentions I wanna be able to fire back with lethal effectiveness of my own. We are so vulnerable out in the wilderness and we forget that sometimes, God didn’t give us anything except our extraordinary brains to protect us, so use the weapon God saw fit to give us and bring a big ass handgun and be safe out there. I have no desire to end up in the next missing 411 book.

When I was in Anchorage back ion 2009, a fellah in one of the smaller towns outside of Anch. He steps out to walk his dogs, he’ going down the street and hears a twig snap. He turns around and a bear was charging him. So he yanks his pistol out and fires a couple of shot and kills the bear. Yeah, outside of your home, you are in the food chain… if you go armed, make sure you pack along something with a wallup. and more importantly practice, practice, practice with it. You may only get one or two shots off and your lucky to hit the target if at all.

Sage advice! ……..And it applies just as surely in an urban environment, where the predators are bipedal.

Second that.

At my buddies vacation house in Petrolia we used to take a fear factor walk in the woods after dark with no flashlight. Well a year ago this month we got to the property and there was bear poop close to the house. Later that night we drive down the main road and had to stop for a good size black bear, well let’s just say we don’t walk around in the dark anymore.

How do I post a pic..I got a good bear on camera this week.

Why I don’t go outside.
Steven J
That’s not limited to a Grizzly in any way… Black bears, cougars, and hogs can do that to you, as well.
brad b
Go armed everywhere. Not just the woods.

The endemically programmed superiority complex of humanity is quickly dissipated as soon as the average human faces the wrath of even a house cat or pet dog. This Dude is a bad ass….Glad he made it through.

Holy SHIT! Wow.. That guy is lucky to be alive!
Maybe you ought to post a warning with that one Wes… After you watch this clip you not be able to unsee its! Yikes! Definetly not for the squeamish!!! Viewer disgression is highly advised…
But still a good object lesson…
John M
Oops… My bad.. You did post a warning…
Thanks for all you do Wes!

He should take a lottery ticket, because his luck is obviously in at the moment. You don’t often get a second chance with a grizzly bear.
Debbie C
I’m glad he’s alive.

WOW!! That is one lucky guy! And one cool character! Gets torn apart, walks three miles, and stands there giving a blow by blow account of what just happened!! Remarkable. Hope he has a Full Recovery!!
