The Skunk Ape

Mattsquatch Presents says “When it comes to the Skunk Ape, I”ve gotten lots of questions about what I think the skunk ape is. Is it a different type of Bigfoot altogether? Is it Orangutang based? Is it a type two that has been geographically isolated? Let’s take a closer look.”

The orangutan connection happened because of the Myakka photo which most seem to think was taken, at best, under fishy conditions. I spent considerable hours in north Florida swamps and I can say the make all the same noises as the northern ones. The argument of multiple types seems a bit silly to me when they have no real barriers and seem to b able to interbreed freely. A new species can arise when a population is split and can’t share gene pools. I’m not sure that’s what we have here. Obviously proximity plays a big role but these animals are capable of covering some serious distance and they can use rivers to conceal themselves when they would need to sneak through more human populated areas. If you are in the paranormal camp, this argument seems even less likely. If they are quantum leaping from somewhere then distance is irrelevant and gene pools would never be split due to distance or barriers . So many theories, so few answers. I need an aspirin.
