An almost disproportionate amount given any other area it’s compared to regarding visiting populations of any kind. Of course, skeptics might argue that it would make sense for there to be so many disappearances given the fact that national parks are massive and, to an untrained individual, could potentially be a lost sentence if they happen to become lost in its unending size.
This does not appear to be the case, however. Many people walk into a national park, and are never seen and heard from again.
