The Howler of Murderer’s Creek

A listener writes “In 1996 I was bowhunting the Murderer’s Creek unit near John Day, Oregon with one of my close friends. We were readying for bed after his cousin and company had left our site around 10pm. We climbed into our tent with my dog and no sooner we heard the gnarliest scream/howl/cry from adjacent hilltop. It was nuts.

The following spring we returned to the campsite with a girl I was dating. Same cousin, same group, left at 10pm and an animal, that could only have been a Sasquatch, jumped out of the creek bed. We all saw it and found a single track the next morning exhibiting metatarsal break (way before I knew what that was)

The story continues into the next fall when I killed a deer, hung it across from camp, and the, or A, Sasquatch ripped it out of the tree with 5 of us in camp.

I guess I should let u know that I don’t think shooting one is the right thing to do.

Enjoy your show!”

Damn it! I just got a game tag for this unit! I left Fort Rock hoping murderers would have less activity. Sheesh. Tell me the campground so I can avoid it….
