A listener writes “Hey Wes, Long-time listener here. I had my first-ever Sasquatch encounter on June 19th just outside of Anchorage, Alaska, while riding the Alaska Railroad.
About 30 minutes into the journey, we were passing Bird Point and approaching Beluga Point. Everyone on the train was looking out the right side of the car, where I was seated. Instead, I happened to be looking out the left side toward the mountains, hoping to spot a bald eagle nest.
That’s when I saw it.
I noticed a large, auburn colored figure walking down a ridge. I couldn’t determine its exact height, but I knew it was bigger than 6’7″ because my dad is 6’7”, and I’ve spent my whole life seeing how tall he looks compared to people, trees, and other objects.
I had the creature in view for roughly 50 seconds while the train was slowing down to enter a siding and allow another train to pass. After the trip, I asked the engineer if he had ever seen anything resembling a large ape in the area. He immediately responded, “Oh yeah, you mean a hairy man or Sasquatch?” He went on to tell me that they occasionally see them crossing the tracks, sometimes in groups, and that they can step over the rails in one giant stride.
Keep up the amazing work on the podcast. I’ve been listening for years and always enjoy the show.”
