A listener writes “We live in rural Tennessee. Our home is on deep in the woods along the ridgeline. In our “back yard” near a trail head off into the woods we recently spotted this “X” tree structure.
It’s location has always given me the creeps although there isn’t much reasoning behind it. The structure itself is trippy because the tree that forks is still very much rooted, while the limb wedged into that fork is a stand alone branch, it has NO roots. It’s pretty weird. There’s dead fall everywhere out here and trees literally grow in right angle and upside down “U” shapes. I wonder if this is something different.
Side note, our neighbor across the way was talking about bear hunting out here years ago and said there’s also “Stove Pipe Bears” -they will run your coon hound to death and never climb up the trees. The are tall and skinny and run on two legs.
It’d sound less crazy if they just call it was it is……. A goddamned Bigfoot.”
