Strange Sounds On My Property

A listener writes “I just listened to the new episode and after hearing about Maine I have to ask. Have you ever heard of these creatures yelling HELP ME?

I have a camp up there and the last time I was there I could hear arguing in the woods with a strange dog like bark. The next night same thing only this time they were on my property. Closer but I could not understand a word of it sounded like jibberish. I kept saying hello who’s out there? Then it yelled help me.

Not like someone in need but more of maybe we can get her to come to the brook. I froze. Then back and forth arguing continued then again it yells help meeeeeee but really long drawn out. It scared me. Now I know there is no one out there. I mean no one. I have heard one whoop and a tree knock there but I just went about my day and pretty much ignored it.”

That’s just creepy beyond measure. Hope he or she comes on soon. Good post. Thanks for sharing it Wes. I can’t imagine how you can read this and talk with the people who have these encounters. Amazing.

I made a comment before about these creatures imitating what they have heard others say when they made noise in the dark. I think a listener said they heard them say, “hello, is anyone there?”

Now I’m picturing that these creatures have heard “help me” before….that’s my spin on it ?

Yes, they will mimic what they hear. While living in Vt. some years ago there was a Sasquatch on and around my property from time to time. He would mimic me from the woods around my home. He really scared me when he heard me talking in my bedroom and instantly repeated what I had said. The only difference was His voice shot right through me.. Freaked me out so bad.. My neighbor had a face to face in counter with him a few months later, and discribed him to a tee. He was pretty shook up.. As far as I now know there is a female and juvenile living in the same area he has been seen.

They learned the unique whistle I had for my dog and would whistle for her from the woods. Freaked me out, confused her. I heard them call my name once, they called for the dogs multiple times. I have two Amazon parrots…they can mimic as good or better than my parrots and Amazons are darn good mimicers.

Wait till they learn to carry on a conversation with us. That will really weird people out. Imagine out sitting by the fire in the woods and one walks up and says “What’s happening?”

    Do not become a victim.
Do not go out there under ANY circumstances alone
Do not go unless your with a few people that are armed
And trained with fire arms, I think jts a trap

These creatures are great mimickers. They will learn your name over time, and even a pets name too. They want to confuse you to the point your curiosity becomes greater than good common sense. They lure you out alone. You think maybe someone needs help. And if tbey are convincing enough, you just became their late lunch.

See if the cops will come out and listen to see if they can hear the same “help me”. Get second opinions from nearby residents and ask them if they are aware of the strange anything like you heard.

THE MORE AND MORE WE LEARN THERE SEEMS TO BE WAY MORE EVIL SINISTER BIGFOOTS THAN THE QUIET GEMTLE GIANTS THAT WATCH OVER OUR FORESTS.

I have to agree…they mimic and do annoying things around your property to keep you confused and curious. I’ve said for over five years now: Do NOT engage. And do not pay attention. It seems the more attention you pay to them the more attention they pay to YOU. Also, they do understand what you say. In the midst of our activity I sat on the patio one morning drinking coffee with my husband and talking. We were discussing all the high strangeness. I said, “At least they haven’t gotten up on the roof”. It wasn’t a week, more like a few days and yes, they got on the roof. It was …scoot, thump, scoot thump, scoot, thump. Squirrels don’t sound like that on your roof. 🙁

After the “What happening it’s what for dinner or should I say who?. Dang looking forward to go hiking alone on the Appalachian Trail. Oh yeah and taking my flute and food gifts for our furry brothers. You gotta love all the hidden surprises that our government keeps quiet about so you have some nice surprises.

I think it’s interesting, and this may be my own observation, but I hear the creature shout “Bon soir?!” in the Meldrum recording, which I’ve listened to over and over again, dozens of times. It always sound like this to me, in fact, the person recording the interaction shouts “bon soir” back, although it sounds like he probably doesn’t recognize it as a greeting in French.

I have no doubt that if the sasquatches could speak human language, they probably would speak French because the French were here in North America first, trekking through the remote back country, while all of the other early colonists were mostly concerning with…colonizing. I have heard a couple of account where witnesses were saying that the creature was speaking what sounded like French, not just the Quebecois sasquatch, either. From other parts of North America
