A listener writes “Thanks so much for your show. I just found it and am loving listening and learning about the primate/creature/animal/human hybrid/”who knows what” that is known as Sasquatch or Big Foot.
I have known about this being and believed that it probably existed for a long time, but have never been particularly interested in knowing more until our move to Yacolt. We moved into a log home. The first couple of nights were very hot and we had the windows open and were not sleeping well.
At 4am for 2 nights in a row, we heard the strangest sounds…..some was like moaning, some was like really fast talking and then the last one was crazy…….it sounded like a person imitating a siren. It went on for a long time so whoever or whatever it was, had very good lungs to continue that sound for so long.
It was loud, but sounded like it was coming from a few miles away. We are on top of a ridge with valleys all around so not sure how sound travels around here. Anyway…..after doing some research I found the Ohio Sounds and what my husband and I heard was exactly the same sound. And the “talking” sound was very similar to the talking sounds attributed to Sasquatch in other areas. My question to you is this: Do the Sasquatch in the Yacolt area make sounds like the ones recorded in Ohio? I was absolutely sure it was some kind of weird siren that someone was setting off…….but it also sounded like it was coming from a living being.”

~ The ‘Ohio Howl’ is what I think I was hearing when I was a child and we lived in the Pine Island Bayou area off Village Creek. The swamp was just beyond our back yard & I would stand at the open window and hear these “ghost or monster” sounds. I’d go to tell my dad, but he’d say it’s coyotes, go to sleep. Very interesting.
