Strange Pulsating Light

Rat and Cat writes “We were traveling through the Columbia Gorge at night last week when we saw something strange. A strange irregular pulsating light illuminated the horizon across the river. A later search revealed a possible source for the light… and even something more interesting: a military instillation that few know about.”

If that bombing range is ever used for artillery practice I’m wondering if what you were seeing was muzzle flashes from big guns, If the wind was strongly at your back you might not hear them. That doesn’t explain the steady glow however. Another possibility that I have seen that resembles this is a large fire. Interesting footage in any case. Thanks.

It’s natural gas being burned off . I live and work in Pennsylvania and this happens all the time here on our gas Wells . Does seem strange but it’s very common especially if there is a landfill in the area they burn methane gas from all the decaying trash below ground . Pretty sure it’s not anything unnatural. I’ll see about making a video of one of our gas Wells burning off and you’ll see the very same pulsating light from afar .
