A listener writes “I am a long term listener, on a recent show you asked about Orb experiences in wooded areas and it brought back something that happened to me in my early 20’s. I had kind of shut this out for whatever reason but it all came back. I do think about it from time to time though but hadn’t for years.

I am 43 now so this would have been at least 20 years ago. I live in Scotland and one night around midnight a friend and I were walking back to our respective parent’s houses as they lived in the same vicinity. We were around a 4 or 5 hundred yards away from getting home when I noticed an orb of light above a lamp post near to the entrance of a woodland path that let into a small cluster of woods. We both stopped and watched it for a few seconds before we realized it was actually 2 orbs. I would say they were around 3 to 4 inches in diameter. We were a bit in aw as they started darting around above the street light.

We actually walked under the lamp post and continued on for around 50 yards while walking backwards so we could continue to observe them. They then started moving more erratically and faster and faster until one swooped down and hovered 8 feet above the ground. This is when a fear like I haven’t felt kicked in and we both took off. We got a hundred or so yards further and I stopped and turned round. I felt compelled to actually go back. My friend called me back though and said let’s get out of here (but in harsher words) so we headed home. I did tell a couple of friends and no-one really scoffed but as seeing is believing I am knew they weren’t 100% convinced.

This leads onto the 2nd experience. Around a month or two later I was walking home again with another friend, someone who I’d actually told about the experience, when we seen the exact same objects. Keep in mind that I had lived there for my entire life and spent a lot of it in the woods day and night as we used to sneak out. My friend had also lived in this area and he had never seen anything like that either.

This time it was different, the orbs floated over the woodland path to the left of the main road and meandered into the woods. The next part was total stupidity on our part. Whenever you see a scary movie you always say ‘why did they go into the woods’ or ‘why did they follow’, and yup, that’s exactly what we did. We followed these orbs into the woods and they started slowly coming down to around 2 or 3 feet above us. They were still between 3 to 4 inches in diameter but there were more of them. Only as a write this am a realizing that I have never actually questioned where the rest came from as there were only 2 when we began to follow… Some of the orbs were smaller and elongated, slightly more stretched than an egg but around the same size.

A total calm had come over us which is why we followed. These things started darting around us though and were missing us by inches and still we stood calmly there watching. One thing that struck me is that whenever they stopped or hovered I could look right through them, there was nothing inside the orb. At some point after a few minutes the a fear kicked in again, the thought that we’d been lured into the woods filled me and we took off through the woodland path to a clearing that we could use to get to our houses. I ran into my house and my mom and brother came out. We stood in our side garden and watch these orbs dance in the sky above the woods. As we watched my friend (who I should have said was another neighbor) returned with his mom and dad and we all watched them before they slowly moved away over the woods. I am not saying what they were, or that there was any ill intent. All I am saying is that they were unexplained, and that on two occasions I got up close and personal with these things. I have never seen them since, and never heard of anyone else that had. They seemed to have a control though, and a purpose.
