OMG I had the SAME THING happen in the Rockies of Colorado. We were on I70 and a blizzard had just started. My boyfriend was coming down the mountain a little too fast. We caught up with traffic and an 18 wheeler ahead of us SLAMMED on his breaks. I braced for impact and covered my eyes. My boyfriend straightened both legs as he hit the breaks and covered his face with this arms. I kept waiting to hit the truck. I finally opened my eyes (this all took SECONDS) and we were now IN FRONT of the 18 wheeler driving normally. We didn’t go under it because his vehicle couldn’t have cleared it. We couldn’t have gone around it because traffic was stopped on the left and there was a wall to the right of us. At the very least we should have spun out on the ice from slamming on the breaks. I looked at him and asked “What happened?” He looked so freaked out. He just kept saying “I don’t know. I don’t know.”
