A listener writes “When I was 13 years old I was out hunting with my dad in the blackleaf canyon west of my farm. I had been in the mountains along the rocky mountain front west of Choteau Montana my whole life.

I learned to ski there when I was 3 years old and logged every fall with my dad for saw logs and firewood. This was only my second year hunting for deer though I already knew the mountains very well and all the animals in them. My dad and I split up each taking one side of a valley to hike up. After I was about a mile from the truck I stopped and saw some movement about 450 yards away on an adjacent ridge it looked like an odd shaped elk running to the top. At the time I thought this was an elk and followed. The story gets weird after this point and I am not positive it’s really Sasquatch related but here you go. I followed where the “elk” went and when I got to the top of the ridge and hill where it ran I saw a burial platform like the Blackfoot Native Americans used to bury their dead. I felt like I was in a dream and at the same time that I was not supposed to be there so I turned around and left to go meet up with my dad.

The blackleaf canyon area was once tribal land belonging to the Blackfoot tribe and parts of this area where their ritual holy grounds as they had found 40 foot stick men made of white stones, medicine wheels, and numerous teepee rings and other artifacts.

At the time I thought what I saw was an elk maybe a bear but even now 24 years later I can picture it really clear in my mind and it had to tall of a front end, the shade of brown was off the back legs were to short, it was moving on all 4s though even the movement seems off when I think back to that day.
The more of your episodes I listen to about what a Sasquatch does and what it looks like I feel that is what I saw that day years ago. I have no explanation for the time loss or seeing the platform or if perhaps I even imagined the whole thing. I have never gone back to that area as it freaked me out to much and I never want to disrespect or mess with Native American ritual grounds.

This past summer in 2021 in May I did go back with my brother-in-law and his friend to hunt for elk antlers. Shed hunting can bring some good money and the blackleaf canyon is also a game range managed by the Montana fish and game service. We went up and hiked around for the day. I was about 2 miles up the ridgeline making a large horseshoe to get back to the truck by 4 pm to meet my friends and I got the feeling I was being watched and should not be there. Before even leaving the house I was not wanting to go back. I stopped where I was and left immediately though still felt as though I was being watched and almost followed by something and would hear on occasion a branch or leaves rustle off to my left side for the next 45-60 minutes hiking back to the truck. I have had other experiences in the woods so I had my .40 pistol in a chest holster hiking this time and have carried this with me for the past 6 years since I purchased it.

Growing up I never carried so much as a pocket knife with me but now I always have a 1-2 knifes and my chest holster.

I know this isn’t a great encounter though I feel it was something in the crypto zoology category and wanted to share.

When I was in high school 16-17 years old during my junior year, I had some encounters with the lights in the sky phenomena for 3-4 months about once a week sometimes 2 times a week driving home from basketball practice. A bright white orb would appear and pace me as I drove my car home along highway 89. I grew up on a farm 30 miles north of Choteau and drove every day for school and sports. This would have been in 2001-2002 30 years ago. This went on for months before one night I told my best friend about it and sked if he had ever seen anything like these lights. He laughed and said I must be seeing pivot irrigation lights or lights from a radio antenna tower. Though I know what those look like and exactly where they are all at as I drove this road and road in cars on this road my entire life with my family traveling into town. And those lights do not pace, follow and stop when I stopped on the road and move again when I started moving.

My friend and I got in his truck and drove out to the section of road where this always happened like clockwork 1045-1115 pm if I was on a 8 mile section of this road which was arrow straight I would see this light as long as no other vehicles where coming at me or following me. This is rural Montana and no one is out driving that late anyways.

We went out and sure enough the light showed up and my friend was speechless, it paced us stopped with us and started moving again after we drove down the road more. We turned around and the light stayed in line with were we turned around and kept blinking (it blinked all the time I was driving, and would stop and go black when I stopped) It blinked on and off in 1s intervals 1 on 1 off nonstop. This got to me so bad that after my friend went with me a couple weeks later I stopped my car got out and yelled at the light to stop following me. I got chills from head to toe and heard bi-pedal pat pat pat pat running away from me and my car in the stubble field. I have no idea what this was only that it sounded like a 2 legged creature or person running away from me.
During this same 3-4 month time frame I saw an 8 foot black creature standing at the side of the road on 2 different occasions and like on your show it gets described. 3 foot or more wide shoulders arms down to almost the knees no next and it just looked massive, I was so freaked I couldn’t even stare at it I saw it, looked back at the road and back to it 3 times and kept on driving 50-60 mph down the highway, the same section where this light followed me. The creature I saw both times in the AM on my way to school about 645 am I got to school by 715 every day to catch up on homework and see some of my friends.
Just to make everything in my story a bit weirder I also toward the end of these 4 months saw two light figures out in a field as I crested a hill off to my right hand side. This field was about 1200 yards away, I ran track and could judge longer distances pretty well. I pulled my car over and got out to look at what these brick like LED bright lighted figures were standing out in the field. There was some light emitting behind them although I could only make out these two shapes one had to have been 10 feet tall and the other’s head came up to just at the taller ones shoulder level. The short one was on the right and the tall one was on the left when I saw them, once I got out after 3-4 seconds they changed sides almost as though they turned to look at me. I appeared they turned around and then were on opposite sides short on the left and tall on the right. I again got the same chills from when I hear the footsteps and yelled at the light and felt just pure fear down my spine I got in my car and drove as fast as my 85 Honda accord would to GTFO!!! I glanced over and saw the figures in the same position they turned one last time and never looked again and just prayed they did not follow me and nothing happened again. I never saw the light in the sky or any creates after that and drove that road for the next 1.5 years finishing out high school. These creatures were wide, I could make out their perfect outline just covered in white light they did not seem to be emitting it just that they were very very bright. Same shape as I saw alongside the road wide shoulders long arms huge head and very creepy.”
