Something very large chased me several feet before I got into the cabin

Belmont County, Ohio

We live in a cabin just outside of town with a swampy bottom that contains lots of trees and deer. In 2010 was when I had my first experience with something very large. Unfortunately, I couldn’t make out what it was, but it had chased me several feet before I got into the cabin.

In 2011, I had my first sighting of a creature that was about 8 or 9 feet tall, with brownish black hair that contained some grey and red streaks. It had been raining earlier that day and it appeared to have long stringy hair, deep set eyes, and very broad shoulders.

Then in 2012, when my daughter was painting the benches at the fire pit in the far corner of our property she came running onto the porch white as a ghost. My husband asked her if she saw a snake and she replied she thinks she seen what I had seen a year earlier. She explained it as a reddish color beast of some sort.

On May 23, 2014, our four year old grandson was spending the night. We were outside earlier letting the grand kids light their sparklers when the four year old said he seen something. We went back into the cabin and started watching television. A little later he said to his pap and then myself while we were watching television, “did you hear that growl?” …we replied no and he ran to the back of the couch to look outside our large picture window. A few moments later he replied there’s a gorilla outside and then started describing the same thing I had seen. His mother and I have never mentioned anything about our experience in front of the children before because we didn’t want to scare them. His older brother was so afraid of his description that he made us close all the blinds and lock all the doors. The next day, we asked him if he remembered anything from the night before and he replied, “you mean the gorilla.” We asked him to show us where he had seen it. Once he showed us the spot, fear instantly came over me to know it was just a few feet from the window. I called my parents because they are the property owners and they went out and bought two game cameras to put on the trees. Since then, a three to four feet section of our firewood that is stacked around the fire pit was pushed inward. Considering it was pushed from the woods inward and there’s about a four foot drop behind the woodpile it was quite concerning to us.

Finally, on May 25th, our granddaughter went out with us to sit on the porch and cried out dog… dog and looked overcome with fear. My husband grabbed the flashlight and saw something take off running. He then ran around the cabin to see what it was and it had already crossed over the bank at the property line. All he could see was two red glowing eyes.

    I totally agree with Jonathan, If the younger kids were mine, we would be out of there. They sure seemed interested in the young kids, you should never knowingly put kids in a dangerous situation. There are some chances you can NOT take……..

    With all of these reports of children seeing and hearing monsters and gorillas out the window, I keep wondering if maybe the creatures are indeed using the infra-sound techniques which tigers and others use to stun their prey? It just seems too coincidental that we have heard a number of encounters where multiple different people are in close proximity to each other, some here the low-level growling and some don’t. I can’t help but wonder if this particular creature was channeling his sounds towards the child?

      Interesting thought Cyndie….makes me wonder if many of the missing children in the 411 books might not have
      been subjected to it, during the first part of the abduction? One way to keep a person/child quiet from the get go.

      In most of the cases in the 411 books, hearing a scream by the abductee is not often mentioned…maybe this is why?

    So scary! This is what nightmares are made of! When they seem to be attracted to women and children…I agree with the post above “I don’t know if I’d want to go to grandmas and grandpas anymore”! Can’t say I would take my kids or grandchildren their even if I was positive I would be able to watch their every move. I’ve heard too many stories about children/ people disappearing right under the nose of others thinking they were to close to disappear. Good story so sad it’s a true one.

    Am familiar with that part of Ohio living in Pittsburgh and traveling East across from Columbus for many years. Landscape reminiscent of what Bob Garrett describes in East Texas big thicket…so these stories not surprising. Interesting encounters!

    Did anyone see the YouTube Operation Overwatch 4 tape? Some pics on game cam that are very interesting. Was thinking about starting a forum discussion…

      Not only that Robert W but this area is squarely inside what is considered a forest giant triangle starting in Coshocton. There have been hundreds of encounters reported various places in this area and probably 10 times that that went unreported. I have met the researcher Mark Dewerth and he is an extremely knowledgeable gentleman and currently puts on the famous Salt Fork Lake conference every spring. I am more than sure that with those large picture windows this clan has been spying on this cabin for several years and probably have taken a liking to the residents and grandchildren that visit from time to time. I myself would not be to worried and it is a golden opportunity for the residents to have some kind of interaction with these giants, something I could only hope for.

    Hello,

    Stuff like this has to be frightening. It’s very disturbing how they’re always watching us. That bothers me more than anything else. The other thing I don’t like is how they know to bother women and children when men are not around. It’s not an accident.

    Lights lights and more lights.. If you don’t want to move. Keep the kids close and put up more lights. Motion detection.. Arm yourself, teach the young ones about staying close very close or just be outside when they are playing! Kinda like having a pool with young ones around…. Never ever take your eyes off that pool and the babies…

    I don’t think I’d build a cabin right in the middle of the forest like this one seems to be. There’s no open buffer zone and I think the boogers feel they can get right on top of you and stay hidden. I would not feel good about my daughter staying there if that were my parents. There’d also be a loaded 12 gauge on the porch or nobody would be allowed outside. Belmont county is a Squatch haven in Ohio. I used to drive when I dated a girl that lived in that county so I got to see a lot of that territory.
