She Just Called It A Creature

A listener writes “I was curious if you’ve ever heard or had anyone any Sasquatch sightings in Waco tx? 3 of my kids have had weird things that they saw and when I asked someone else they said oh I don’t think you have to worry about Sasquatch in the Waco area.

We are on 120 acres but it’s still pretty populated. We are all pretty outdoorsy up till recently. I won’t let them go out in the woods by themselves anymore and they all had things happen that freaked them out. My 9 yr old had nightmares and wouldn’t sleep for about 2 and a half months finally I had her draw out what she saw and she started feeling a little better.

We don’t watch horror films or finding bigfoot it any of those kind of things. She just called it a creature. Then a few weeks ago we were checking the fences in the back after a storm because we have horses and we heard the weirdest noise I have ever heard. I could break it down to a few animals but it wasn’t just the sounds of one animal. It was like a coyote, hog, deer and primate were in the backyard having a teaparty. There was a howl, a grunt, a snort and a huff all within a few seconds and it was loud. There have been weird things but I never really paid any attention till recently. We actually used to do exotic rescue and had primates and the sound in the woods at the end was almost identical to when one of our macaques would be grumpy.it was like a long irritated huffing sigh.

Anyway I was just curious if you had heard of other people in the area experiencing something. Do you have a contact in the area of central Texas that might know more. So far what we have witnessed is not up right close to the house and I don’t want to upset anything so that we start having problems but I want to know we aren’t crazy ?. On a side note there are days when the horses won’t go to the back of the property. They will stay up close to the house all day long which is strange.”

Would be great to talk to him/her, especially with their primate knowledge.
I was given a ‘back up’ noise one-time that sounded like a cough, sneeze and huff/grunt rolled into one….it can be loud!
    Would be an interesting guest.

BFRO website has 1 report listed for BOSQUE County and 1 report and 1 article for CORYELL County, both those counties border McLennan County (the county Waco is in).

Well dear lady, WHY in the he–, would you be crazy? You’ve never been crazy before have you? You are not the first one to hear things in Texas. You know what it is, now admit it, and take the necessary precautions. You are as sane as the next guy and you know those horses are sane animals. You can’t fool a horse. When they are staying close, something is out there, that is stronger than they are. Anymore it does not matter if it is a populated area or not. We hear stories all of the time about bigfoot and other cryptid beings coming in close. I’m just stressing to be very careful with yourself and your children. KNOW!!!!

You have the Brazos and Bosque Rivers and tributaries in the Waco area. Although not plentiful, the wooded areas are along these corridors. These are their corridors. I would suspect any Bigfoot groups in this area would be migratory and move around all the time. If they are hanging around your area, I would suspect they have a very young one, possible new born, in the group.

In the past ten years there has definitely been a big increase in the reports of Sasquatch in the Central and Hill areas of Texas all the way down to San Antonio.

Although they may not be coming in close to the house yet, or that she knows of anyways, it still wouldn’t hurt for her to take some precautions to keep it that way. She should definitely consider game cameras at each corner of the house; those things are like bigfoot repellant. She should also light up her yard. Flood lights or motion lights in strategic places. Those are the two recommendations that I always hear bigfoot researchers, and other homeowners who have had dealt with the same problems, consistently recommend. Do not leave your children’s windows open or unlocked, even if they are on the 2nd or 3rd floor, and make sure the blinds and curtains are shut tightly at night. We are their entertainment and they watch us, like we would watch a tv; if they do not have viewing access, they’ll lose interest in trying to look into your windows. And goodness sakes, do not feed them, and do not shoot at them unless it’s life-or-death and all other options have been exhausted!

There is a long history of squatch in the areas. Mom as a child below Waco at Cedar Springs near the Brazos was not allowed out at all after dusk because of the wild “hairy naked wild man “ seen in the woods… late 1920’s… grandparents moved to Eastern Falls County so Paw Paw could plow late into the evening… older sisters going to pastures with coon hunting boy friends were chased from pasture one time by one… my brother was smooching with his girlfriend ( now wife ) 35 years ago and shot at it when it leaned on the truck bed … it stood in the darkness and stood up and ran through the woods after the first shot… he said it was so massive it would have taken his truck door off if it had come at him instead of retreating, knocking small trees over as it retreated… cowboy friends of mine sat on Country Club Road north of Marlin and though tough fighters, made a quick retreat at the sight of the creature staring at them 100 yards away over the fence line… and one of my brothers classmates had asked my brother what type of bear ran on it’s back legs … she and her grandson witnessed a juvenile one sprinting from the lake where they were going to fish…a Native American friend of mine encountered a ten foot dog man on a road looking eye to eye with him as he sat in his 18 wheeler stopped in the road… it shoved the cab and it slid on the rain soaked road and turned and walked away… and a Waco resident hit one on I 35 North of Hillsboro and awake to his trailer shaking and a Dog man roaring in the dark, which woke his parents at Bellmead… and they have been seen in the Kosse big woods… by a Baptist minister’s wife…they are all over the place and do not all get reported to BFRO… yes.. game cans emit a frequency they do not like… motion lights are also good… and my Native American truck driving buddy said his grandma at the reservation in Oklahoma poured Pine Sol and water around a perimeter and they seem not to like so strong of a scent… I do not know because I can’t help but think how bad they stink… but it can’t hurt

My take on so many of these encounters whether one lives in Texas, in the Midwest, Northwest, East Coast etc. is that these things can be anywhere they have access to a water source such as a river, lake, ocean or even large pond. Their diets could vary a lot food wise but they all need water. Don’t kid yourself, if you are hearing, seeing or smelling the evidence of one of these creatures no matter where you live and (like others have said) be pro-active and take necessary precautions.
