SC EP:428 Sasquatch in Maine

My first guest, John, is from Louisiana, and he had an encounter when he was 6-7 years old. John says “I was out with my family and I started walking down the trail by myself and I came up on what I thought was a gorilla. It looked at me and made a RAAAA! sound and pushed his head forward. I ran back to my dad and told him what happen. My Dad told me that they were an ancient human/indian that lived in the woods and that he was paced out of the woods one time. The thing I ran into was huge and reminded me of a gorilla, now this is in the 60’s so information was scarce at best….”

My second guest JC writes “I am a retired Navy Seabee and I live in South Central Maine. I, a friend & associate of mine whom is a professional in the community, have had continuous contact/encounters with a family pod of Bigfoot for the past 18 months. This email has been difficult to write due to the fact that I am growing Marijuana in the forests in which these these encounters take place. The reason for writing now we feel is that we posses valuable information for you and your listeners.

My story is very long but I want to keep this email as short as possible. I personally have been growled at, charged by numerous creatures at the same time. I’ve been paralleled in the woods, escorted out of those same woods by them. I have had tree limbs snapping all around me as I’m watering my plants inside my grow area holding my pistol in my other hand at the same time. No one goes into these woods and no one has for decades. First, the tics are so bad if it weren’t for the fact that I own an actual tic suit, I would not be out there, and I am out there 2 to 3 times a week mostly by myself. But there other times my friend is with me. I have also called in some juveniles and they like to use whistles to communicate. We have been visited by a family of 5 Sasquatch and have been within 10 yards of the 3 baby’s This will continue to happen because we have discovered this area is being used in sense as a nursery. We have discovered a large number of baby tree structures everywhere throughout these parts of the sticks. It will really start ramping up for me because in 2 weeks I am back out in the same area where I have been growled at and charged numerous times, 2 to 3 times a week. Only once last year I went out into the woods and I did not have a undesirable encounter. All encounters are UNDESIRABLE!

Everything started when my friend asked me if I would come out to his property and check things out because he thought or felt he was being stalked and watched by one of these creatures. Upon arrival, I discovered an unreal amount of tree structures straddling the edge of the wood line of his property and his field (approx. 25 acres). There were trail markers at 3 points at at either end of the field too that you could clearly make out. As I made my way up to the tree structures, I noticed pressed into the grass was a set of the largest set of tracks I have ever seen. Measured out to be 22 inches long by 9 and half inches wide. I followed tracks into the forest until I heard A knocking sound. I then turned tail and left. The next weekend I got to witness what left these tracks and I m still trying to put it together in my head of what I saw because it was too big. It had to been over 11ft tall, 1100 lbs., 5 to 6ft wide at the shoulders.

Since then I have had too many encounters to list here. My friend and I have figured out their migratory pattern, their territory range, their routine and a lot of their habits especially where they like to sleep. I have physical evidence such as tools they made and used, hair, photos, recordings, and hell, I could nail down to what day of the week as to where they will be.

I am already back out into the woods where nobody else travels, and these woods my friend are thicker than the Olympics because I am from Idaho and I use to visit there a lot as a kid.

Thank you Wes, been listening to you for a long time and if it were not for you I would not of come forward.”

The second guy sounds really eccentric, but as a Disabled Vet who also has pain issues he sounds like other Vets I know. All I can say is; I believe him. His invitation to Renee of Not Finding Bigfoot is funny.

Going to stubblefield on Friday, taking very high tech equipment and hope we get some great vids or audios. Thanks Wes, very believable encounters tonight.

~ John, thanks for sharing your very frightening encounter on the levee. So sorry about your dad passing away. He sounds like a great guy, and dad.
~Oy Vey! 11″ ! Dang. Surely you could find a better place to grow your meds? I think you’re playing with fire dude. It’s just not good to play the odds with these creatures. PS & BTW ~ Never finding Bigfoot is no longer on the air.

    • m99

Point about the meds, that’s a real word. I had a relative die from cancer who was hooked on the meds that were prescribed. He suffered so badly. I just couldn’t get him to understand, the herb is good for you, the narcotics kill. He didn’t make it long.

      • Shirley S

m99, I don’t know what kind of cancer or treatment your relative had, but there are a couple of reasons herb may not be an option for some cancer patients. If you’re immunocompromised from a stem cell/bone marrow transplant or heavy chemo (24/7 administration) , you are told you absolutely must not smoke or ingest herb. The risk of a lethal fungal infection is too high (you can’t have house plants, flowers, or dried flowers in your house, either). Another reason is that herb just isn’t strong enough to put a dent in many types of strong pain. It didn’t touch mine, and I know there are cancer patients out there in more severe pain than I was. Coming off opiates is a week-long pain in the butt, but I’ll take that over months or years of severe pain! Unrelenting pain is incredibly stressful for the body at a time when you need to be able to rest, sleep, eat, walk, etc., and do everything you can to keep your strength up and your will to survive strong. My health started to improve when I started taking pain medication. I could finally sleep and eat! I believe not taking them earlier really negatively impacted my health.

Narcotics don’t kill just by virtue of being narcotics. They kill when misused. Chronic pain, on the other hand, destroys quality of life, what’s left of your health, self respect, and the ability to support yourself. The suicide rate for sufferers of chronic pain has gone up sigificantly since pain medication has become virtually impossible for people with legitimate reasons to use it have been unable to get it. It’s cruel and it’s wrong. Most people in chronic pain would much rather be able to use herb, but it just doesn’t work for every type and level of pain. Sometimes the poppies can do what the weed can’t. Addiction isn’t much of an issue if your need is permanent or your disease is lethal.

        • m99

No, he was just biased against anything marijuana. And the VA prescribed it to him, but he wouldn’t hear of it. He couldn’t sleep, he suffered in pain, all the time, not just from cancer, but from fractures in his spine. He was in the medical field, a retired Navy Officer, and from a time when alternative medicine was a no-no. But, seriously, Dilaudid? he kept getting addicted, talking himself off, and suffering constantly. All they wanted him to do is take it at sleep to night. Pill form, no psychotropic indicators, just the good part. And yes, narcotics do kill from over usage or long term. He could have at least tried the pill form at night to get some rest and recovery. No one expected him to smoke anything, or even smell it. Plus he never smoked in his life & wouldn’t have tolerated even the smell of the stuff. The point being, he was too closed minded against marijuana to even give it a try, but had no qualms with using hard (prescription) drugs.

          • m99

And, Shirley, I’m in agreement about using responsibly as you did. A friends husband just had back surgery and is so hard headed he won’t use the scripts short term for pain so he can rest (and heal!) at home. Yes, you’re right about the short term usage. And I’m sorry you had to go through that but glad you came out the other side recovered. If I had to use it, I’d use the hemp made from the whole plant, which I have done and it helped me immensely. I would never want to smoke the stuff again. Phewy. And I don’t want to get high. Anyway, thanks for your comments Shirley.

        • Annette L

Shirley thank you for taking the opportunity to put GOOD information about chronic pain and pain management. I had an accident 13 years ago and had surgery that made me much worse to the point I live in severe pain from a secondary disorder caused from botched surgery. If not for opiates, I would have ended my life by now. It’s hard to hear but most pain patients contemplate suicide not to do anything but end the suffering. I’m for anything anyone can use for pain as long as it improves their quality of life, not ruin it. Medical marijuana is now legal in 29 states.

The picture you have of the forest is great!! I can see the faces of at least eight sasquatch. I’m going to draw red circles around them and send it to you. Just kidding!! Thanx Wes for all you do, you’re awesome!!

  5. Doug K

Hey Wes, both encounters were awesome!!! Thank you John for sharing your encounter with us . Thanks JC for sharing all your experiences with us. Your encounters sound very scary to say the least. YEEEE HAWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Paul M

I think the second guy can get some valid proof! Hope to hear more from him in a few weeks. Thanks Wes. It’s not to hard to figure that they are living in that area.

  7. m99

I have an old friend who is an artist. He does surrealist landscapes with faces in the picture. Somehow that’s always bothered me. I looked at that picture again, darned if I didn’t see faces when I looked for them.

Ambush prey along the trail is the common method of bigfoot creatures. Hide behinds and other names events here in Oregon and Washington, stalking up behind victims and survivors turn and fire at point blank range. Ape canyon was such a case, and in the 70’s a rabbit hunter near Crater lake turned and emptied both barrels of bird shot in the face of his stalker as it reached for him. Waiting for a child roaming the woods is known, still the bigfoot good types don’t want to know the truth because it scares them. I think the feral human or unevolved species is an attempt to explain them. These are not human they are animals at best. John Green worked hard to learn about the things and after talking to witnesses and counting the dead he took the tack of shoot them.

So thrilled to hear a local pronounce the word properly- Luc Garou (Bayou werewolf).

The first time I ever heard about Luc Garou was on the old cation Johnny Quest when I was a kid.

I seen a lot of podcasts on YouTube that pronounced it rougarou – I thought I was going nuts as I was sure it was as he said, Luc Garou.

    I’m glad he clarified it.

    • m99

Amen to that Mark. My family on my mom’s side is Cajun French, from SW Louisiana. A few years ago my brother said he wanted to live in the backwoods swamps of LA. That was his dream. He said he wasn’t afraid. I answered, yes but there are things out there you don’t want to encounter. I asked him, what about the Loup Garou ? I don’t care if it’s legend or not, the Cajun know it’s out there, to which he didn’t say a word, and never mentioned moving out there again.

    • Charles R

Yep Luc Garou. Those dang swamp folks bastardizing the language as John mentioned. Johnny Quest was also the first time I had heard of such creature. That was always my favorite cartoon, kinda figures as I look back.

  10. Kathy J T

Love his answer to your usual question, “What do you think Sasquatch is?” …..They belong here, we don’t…..Wow!!!!!
Can’t wait to here the update, hope it goes A-OK!

  11. Dave P

JC great Encounter. I live Maine sounds like not far from you I would like to talk to you iam huge Beliver love this show i am in limington cornish and you are right about the Forest here. Let me know how to reach you

    Thanx Dave

  12. ben D

I wasn’t aware that the deer and apparently bigfoot don’t partake in the eating of the devils lettuce. JC was a awesome guest and didn’t have anything to gain by telling his story only loss of someone figures out where his patch of sticky green devils lettuce is located

    • Wolf

The psychoactive element is bitter and apparently produced by the plant to prevent it from being eaten. It only has a psychoactive effect if heated.
Very few critters eat it because of this bitterness.

  13. Wookie Booger

I love the sound of the first guests voice, great accent. ? Albert Ostmen said the “old Indian” that rowed him up to the Toba inlet said that Sasquatches were a lost tribe of First Nations people that had gone wild.

  14. David G

Wes, thanks for the great show. The guests were able to recreate their interaction and let’s us imagine the situation. I can’t wait to hear back from JC soon!

My cat liked to eat my young pot plants. I was told it is in the catnip family. And yes you CAN have an effect from eating the plant. He never ate much.

I would love to see Rene from Finding Bigfoot spend time with JC! Really. I’m sure she could be contacted through the network. Good luck JC! Come back soon.

Wess, I am looking forward to hearing what you think bigfoot is. Recently you mentioned you were working on a project related to that. Please post it soon. Thanks again for all your hard work.

Wes, the word “thank you” is not enough for what I’m feeling. I applaud this guy for growing his own medicine. You see, I have many different lifelong chronic pain issues. Sept 2017, my doctor could/would not provide me with the pain medications that I have been on for over 15 years that worked for me to live as normal of a life that I could live. He had to do this because of the new guild lines that the CDC changed in order to keep addicts from overdosing which BTW is not the answer. That in itself is topic I could preach on for 17 days and a half!!
I’m glad to hear other people are growing medicines to help themselves with their pain. Also, I love that the place he chooses has its own “guards” per se’.
Thank you again for posting a sighting that is a tad different because I’ve learned a lot more from his many encounters. You so rock the BF world and for that, I thank you millions of times!
Sincerely from one of your many big-time fans.
    Cindy Ward

The show was “dope” as usual! See what I did there? ? Anyway, first guest was cool. I enjoy hearing from the “no nonsense” types that you typically find in the south. The Cajun accent is laid back and cool to hear. Also, the dude in Maine is definitely passionate about the subject. As a fellow Infantry Vet, I feel ya brother! Only thing I don’t agree with is when you said that Sasquatch is waiting to get you! Brother, they would have already gotten you if they wanted to. And the fact that they are respecting your grow op speaks in volumes. Sasquatch has that element of “the unknown” that combat or even joining the military has. You never quite know what you’re walking into and its the ultimate rush! Stay safe!

  17. Chris S

1st guy sounds credible. 2 nd guy sounds like that cartoon character Commander McBragg. Idk why but he just does. Highlander kind of guy. Been everywhere done this and that. Soory just my opinion.

  18. Blair D

Loved this episode Wes. Listened to it 4 times. The first guest John was fantastic! Could listen to him tell stories for hours!!?? both guests where awesome and brought up many great points. Thankyou all!

  19. MONTE M

That lady from Not Finding Bigfoot needs to be brought out into that seven square mile hot spot . Get her all tic infested and high so when she experiences the Bigdog she pees her pants and sees God . Bobo would probably love that spot . It’d be his main Maine spot to go go jonesing to . Yeah just thought I’d stop by even though I’ve been here the last seven nights to see if you happen to have another cigar ….

  20. Lee N

LOL. I haven’t smoke weed in 30 years. I think I need some weed after listening to this episode again! How the hell did I get through it the first time. I won’t drive through the Maine woods again without thinking of JC lol. I’ll drop him in some thick lumber company woods and see if he can find his way out lol. Thanks JC for the laugh! Now I know why they call them Maineacks!!

  21. craig d

Gotta love JC, weed heads are boss, I was one for many years but haven’t been a stoner now for over ten years.
You can really think out the box when you’re, well … out your box!
However a couple of discrepancies. JC mentioned the deer don’t like weed but he’d just told us there aren’t any at his grow site. Secondly he said his grow is next to a Sasquatch nursery? I struggle to accept that one. I really don’t think the Sabe would tolerate his presence anywhere near that nursery.
As for Rene from Finding Absolutely Nothing … I mean Bigfoot, she plays the part of the sceptic for the show, but in real life she believes they are paranormal.
    Fun fact.
    Loved the show.

    • Brad C

Yeah, JC wasn’t the most convincing guest I’ve listened to. Just me, and I don’t care if he grows weed or corn, there’s a few things he said that just….eh. Wanting to go by getting killed by a bigfoot? I think he was a bit too excited and wasn’t actually thinking about what he was saying. He was definitely over excitable.
And as far as pain medications go there are a number of legal and effecting alternatives to narcotics.
If the need presents itself wild lettuce, kratom, and specific mushrooms are either completely non-addictive or much much less addictive than narcotics. Drug companies want you addicted and without alternatives but if you keep looking they are out there.

  22. Janet P

I watch a lot of Bigfoot documentaries and listen to a few podcasts, SC being my main one. On 1 of the docs a lady said she can mind speak with the Bigfoot, said that at one point she had an encounter with a female and the female called the Marijuana “choke” and they use it for medicine also. Fascinating encounters. I have been listening for a good year and catching up on the episodes in order 🙂 Thanks Wes!!
