SC EP:353 Something in the road

Tonight I will be welcoming three guests to the show. Doug is from Pennsylvania saw one of these creatures on the side of the road. Doug said “It was not a bear and it was too large to be a human,”

I will also be speaking to Matt who is from California, and he will be sharing two encounters he had up in the mountains. You can see the video Matt submitted of the location of his second encounter HERE.

My final guest is John who is from Missouri. John wanted to share two encounters he had.

As someone who has lived her whole life in Missouri (Jefferson County, just south of St. Louis, btw), I don’t know many people who pronounce it Missouri-uh. Definitely must just be just parts of the state. Also, I think it just might just be John’s manner of speaking and not really an accent, per se, that you like, Wes. I don’t know anyone that really sounds like that. He’s got his own special way of speaking, I believe. Glad to see Missouri represented twice this week! ??‍♀️??

My family is from Elsberry, MO, & I live in St. Charles county. I don’t know anybody who speaks like John, either, so I’m guessing this is just the cadence John speaks with. It’s pretty unique — doesn’t sound like what I think of when I hear someone from Lincoln/Pike counties.

Thanks Wes, great show, great guests. Matt very well spoken and articulate, your sense of dread was very compelling and reminded me of something that happened to me in east Texas last September 21st. I’ll contact you on your YouTube ’cause I’m old school and have zero social media.

Tomorrow I get to say good morning twice to my wife. Once in the early morning, and once after the ECLIPSE! I wonder what the Sasquatch will think about it. It could be a good time to see one! Doug that wasn’t a line backer, and your cop friend needs to spend the night by himself around the area you had your sighting for a couple of nights! Even if he seen, or heard one he wouldn’t confess to it!

My husband is from Idyllwild, I have been there many times. If. I recall you had a guy in Joshua Tree on. That whole area is connected. And hot as hell. I could see them up there during the summer, to cool off. Not a lot of water, peoples swimming pools, Lake Hermit, the oasis in morongo valley and 29 palms. Tons of rabbit, iguana, lizards, snakes coyotes. There are sheep too, but I had never seen them. The desert is a tough survival, even for a human.

What kind of coverage do you think they’d find? I do notice caves in the distance when I’m coming outta the pass/the 62 toward or away from I-10…

Yucca Valley, Morongo, etc seem to offer sparse shelter to me, but I don’t discount their presence there..

Really liked the 2nd guest, Matt. Will definitely check out his youtube channel. What was up with the 3rd guest? Growing popcorn in his garden? Seriously, he was funny to listen to.

Sorry, that was mean and negative. Ok, no Squatch or Dogman.,, Idyllwild, Ca. he spoke of is wonderful. Spent 4 weeks every summer, 1955-1962 up their. In the 70’s, took my husband up to enjoy. Only people in the Camp Ground but the Ranger. Great spot, set up, chairs and ice chest out. Done. We even had a Wolf, long legs all Silver and Black, walk threw our camp, about 20 feet away. Beauty! I keep hearing Rock Slides. Over and over. My husband hears nothing. We go off for a walk, trying to find my rock slide. We never hear or see anything. Crazy! Returning to the camper. While playing cards, a jack releases, so my husband goes out to jack it back up. Wow, do you hear the Rock Slide now? You’er outside and it’s really loud, this time! He hears nothing. Then I realize, What I’m hearing, are the
Mt. Dew Bubbles, bursting in the back of my throat. Not a word of a lie:) Quiet Place!

I’m born and raised in Missouri, not Missourah. I don’t know where to begin with John. Seems like a nice guy, but in no way shape or form is his cadence typical for a Missourian. Depending on where in Missouri one is from, urban or more rural settings, southeastern, southwestern, or northern part of the state, you may notice a more developed southern draw. John’s way of speaking may be more of a unique circumstance of his upbringing.
    Regardless, great show Wes!
