The steps he describes are exactly what my friend and I heard Ky. at Lake Cumberland. Exactly the same thing. Even the part about stopping and hearing the extra step or two in the woods. We did not run though, it happened every time we walked down the hill road to the boat launch. Happened when I was alone too.

Grew up in Southern California. You would be surprised how close in to populated areas these things will come. The outskirts of San Diego County are open to National Forests and sparsely populated areas and these things were coming in to the outer edges of Escondido in the 70’s and 80’s. We had a small stand of tall old Eucalyptus in our neighborhood in the middle of this field about a square mile big, there was one that would sleep up in the trees in the daytime and they roamed around the orange and avocado groves, cow pastures, and neighborhoods at night looking into windows, going through trash cans and taking people’s pets.

My first exposure to sasquatch was also in Broward County, Markham Park area of Plantation, FL (just east of Everglades).I’d fish as late as midnight on canal at aunt’s adult community trailer as a teenager during Spring Break vacations. One night, I got the heebie jeebies and went to bed. That night later in bed, something was breathing in an open window above me that was seven plus feet off the ground.
