SC EP:155 A Paramedic’s Encounter

It will be up shortly in the members section. Bob Garrett returns and speaks with the witness and gives us his feedback. I was going to hold off on uploading this but decided to go ahead and upload it after the interview. I am working on the Albert Ostman encounter so look for that later in the week.

Tonight we speak to Joe who had an encounter in East Texas. He wrote to me a few weeks back and here is what he wrote: “Wes I’m a Paramedic on the coastal bend area in east tx and I discovered your show about 7 months ago when one of these things started vocalizing at us and throwing rocks and large limbs at our unit at about 345 am when our ambulance got a flat on a country road after transporting a patient to his residence way out in the country,my partner and other first responders have ran into these things in the past but I would always laugh it off until that night,Wes this thing came out of the woods and charged our ambulance.my partner accidentally switched on our siren and then we heard large foot falls then a huge rock hit the side of the unit followed by a large log it screamed at us after that we both got in the unit and sat for about 5 minutes I told my partner to shut everything off except the flood light when he did that he hit the code 3 lights because his hands wouldn’t stop shaking I then shut them off immediately when I turned to face the woods it was already standing about 30 ft away curly up its mouth at us me and my partner couldn’t move for about the first 5 seconds and then our first responders auto pilot must off kicked in,we started to lock the doors and advised central that to contact P.D. the thing must not off liked the fact we were moving around in there and that’s when he charged the unit the ambulance ended rocking almost to one side I don’t want people to think we’re crazy or lose my job but I’ve had nightmares ever since and I hate taking 911 calls in the country now or transfers.”

    You’ve created a monster in me, Wes…an insatiable appetite to hear these encounters you post.
    Thank you so very much for what you do.

    I think I can use the info gleaned from each episode to avoid having an encounter that that will leave me a little worse for wear. Until your show, I did not have even the slightest idea that Texas has a large population of them nor that they would aggressive in any way. A real eye opener. Before SasChron, I *had* – past tense – the idea that one day maybe I’d hunt in Sam Houston – alone – not now thanks.

    SasChron perhaps does more good than you will know.

    I’d like to go on a ride with them out in the country. They could arm themselves with some weaponry and take care of this critter and once and for all put this mystery to rest. I volunteer for the mission! I’m in Houston so it can’t be that far from me……

    Awesome show tonight! I feel Joesephs fear and the traumatic way the encounter has effected his life! Always love hearing from Bob too! Wes and Bob, you both did a great job in helping Joseph to sort this impossible experience out in his head so he can slowly get back to putting his life together! Being a medic on an ambulance in a very rural area myself, with our district covering large area almost to the Santiam Pass in Oregon, my heart rate went up listening to his encounter…many are the times when we are out in the woods, on forest service roads, etc and I often think about what I would do if we broke down or rolled around a corner and saw one…and since I work the 12 hour night shift, I know that I have to be on the lookout for more than just deer in the road!
