We were emailed by a listener who received several texts from someone claiming to be Wes, and informed the listener that they had won a monthly prize (screenshots below)
Please know that Wes (nor anyone officially representing Sasquatch Chronicles) would NEVER reach out for any payment or personal information in such a manner, and any legitimate promotion or giveaway will be prominently posted on our social media AND our official website, and would be mentioned on-air.
While this is so far the only report, and we don’t have reason to indicate that the membership database has been compromised or anything of that nature, we take this type of thing very seriously and felt it was important to make you all aware!
If you receive a similar message, please email screenshots of the messages, along with the phone number, to kc@sasquatchchronicles.com
We’ll keep you updated if anything new arises, but in the meantime, stay safe out there folks!

As a computer tech I wonder how the scammers got the members contact information from. At first glance I would say the members mailbox got breached. But it is uncommon to target so specifically by pretending to be Wes and making a plausible link to Sasquatch. Especially mentioning the Sierra sounds and Ohio howls. Plus they know his first name. What are the odds of a scammer knowing about this? It is awfully specific. I would recommend to the member who got the texts to change his passwords at least.

Yeah. That ain’t funny. Or good. Dadgum trolls.
